Removable shin liner which can be washed. Gently used (as far as hockey gear can be used gently). No cracks, splits, or sewing coming undone. Plenty of life left in them. If you’re a newer player looking at first time gear: 13”, generally speaking, is a good size for smaller adults and bigger teens. While it depends partially on height, that can be a good generalization if you don’t know what you need. I’m 5’8” and they fit just fine, and I have friends who are closer to 5’2” who wear 13” as well, though they are a bit longer on them. These are a great entry level/intermediate shin guard, good knee coverage for the level, protective plastic has no weak spots. Only big difference between lower and higher level pads are generally the wrap around protectiveness— I.e. pro stock pads have knee protection that wraps above and to the sides of the knee, and wraps fully around the calf. Beginner and intermediate players generally won’t be getting shots there, and if they do, the padding that is there should protect well enough. If you’re playing a more elite level (high level travel, national bound, college, etc) you’ll want more protection for getting hit by shots. Let me know if you have any questions!
