Description from their website: Vaughn VM Carbon Pro V Elite Goalie Mask The Vaughn VM Carbon Elite goalie mask is a full carbon fiber composite shell with aramid fiber fused to the shell to increase strength and protection. The VM Elite mask construction is what we consider at Goalies Plus a high level goalie mask and protects in a manner consistent with custom made NHL goalie masks. The VM Elite has a unique feature of an extra large face opening. The large opening creates better site lines and also allows for more ventilation which keeps the goalie cooler compared to masks with smaller face openings. The cat eye cage that is used on the VM Elite is a large center bar design. The larger center bar creates more strength which is extremely important when the face opening is larger then normal. One design feature that is different on the VM Elite mask compared to other high end goalie masks is the padding. Vaughn uses a triple layer foam design in the forehead are and a molded EVA foam design in the cheek area to create a comfortable yet protective fit. A antimicrobial chin cup help create a cleaner inner surface for the face to rest against. The VM Elite mask fits a face and head size with more volume (round). Along with the added volume and extra wide face opening, the chin shape helps eliminate mask interference with the shoulder floaters of the chest protector.
