The Vaughn Carbon Elite Pro goalie mask features a brand new shape and design with more volume to fit a wider range of head shapes. The construction is made of hand-laid Carbon Fiber and Kevlar with a high impact epoxy resin. The buildup uses 40% more components in the layering and is molded and cured under high pressure. The result is a shell that is 30% lighter than any of Vaughn's previous shell models, and it is substantially stronger as well. The interior features three densities of foam - a hard layer against the shell, and softer layer atop this first layer, and a soft EVA foam on the temple and face opening for incredible feel against the skin. This foam layup acts to dampen the ringing from puck impacts and has a greater ability to absorb puck impacts than traditional Vaughn foam layups. The chin cup is a molded foam design covered with an anti-microbial fabric, and it is adjusted with dual Velcro straps. The skull plate spans the entire back of the mask with no gaps in protection, and it also features this triple density foam layup found in the facemask.
