Unique embossed synthetic hand grips in the palm provide an unreal level of hold, and will keep you confident in you pokes and sauce. The binding-less face also aids in consistency and is more durable over the long run, lacking the bindings and transitional areas that result in early decay. While laminated dual density foams aid in controlling rebound direction. Finally, LD foam and an injection molded lock thumb combine to keep those vulnerable fore finger and thumb areas safe in even the most unpredictable situations. The original Premier Glove was the first one piece glove to gain acceptance in the show, and they certainly haven’t stopped improving. The R1.5 delivers some serious value for developing goalies, allowing them to adjust to the tender favorite glove style without breaking the bank. This edition sees an adjustment or optimization to the alignment and balance of the glove. Leveraging their previous 580/90 designs, CCM tweaked the width of the cuff and length of the fingers in the trapper to better balance blocking and catching areas to align with modern preferences. In doing so, they were able to maintain the position of the breaks to allow players to continue enjoying the benefits they offer for puck control. Meanwhile, an anatomical hand strap redesign has improved comfort and feel on the puck, and allows for quicker easy adjustment when on the ice. Finally, we haven’t heard of too many pads that were more game ready out of the box than this Premier line, meaning adjusting to a new trapper has never been easier.
