The Vaughn Velocity V7 XF Intermediate Goalie Blocker is a recommended for A thru AAA travel hockey levels. Vaughn Velocity V7 XF Intermediate Goalie Blocker New for 2016 is the Vaughn Velocity V7 XF Intermediate Goalie Blocker. Vaughn has two version in the Velocity V7 series for an intermediate goalie – the XF & XR. The Velocity V7 XF series stands for flexible and is made for the hybrid style goalie. The Velocity XF is the traditional Vaughn Velocity series that has been around for over a decade. Some key features on the XF intermediate blocker are: centered positioned palm placement which give the most balance feel, reinforced finger protection, reinforced palm and a binding less face. The XF blocker is built for the high level young adult who needs higher quality hd foams. At this age group, players are now shooting the puck substantially hard and the level of play is getting much faster. Goalies need gear that can perform like pro level gear in smaller packages. Vaughn Velocity V7 XF Intermediate Goalie Blocker Features Full coverage formed finger protectors with 3mm thick carbon fiber inserts for increased protection No binding front blocking board to maximize net coverage Ultra high-density internal foam core for lightweight and stiffness Beveled bottom edge for paddle down movement Large index finger double layered protection with carbon fiber inserts Backhand cushion padding to reduce impact Floating articulated cuff design for superior wrist movement Side wrist air cushion pad Large finger protectors with dual layered inner index finger guards Adjustable wrist strap with Velcro closure Pre-curved palm fingers for improved grip Palm features vented side gussets and grip textured overlay New graphic with split face design for more color zone options Sizing Differences: Youth, Junior & Intermediate Many parents do not understand the sizing terms used in goalie equipment. Youth, junior and intermediate are often confused as too which term goes with which age group. We will explain the differences to help eliminate any errors in the ordering process. Youth goalie gear is the smallest on the market. This is generally for your five year to eight year old goalies. Youth gear is generally less expensive and not made with high quality materials. Higher quality materials and foams at a youth level pose two issues. One; they are too stiff for a small goalie to move around and two; the goalie will outgrow the gear before they even break it in. Therefore it is ok to have lesser quality at the youth goalie gear age group. The junior goalie equipment is for the eight year to the twelve year old goalie. This again is not made with the highest quality materials. The quality is certainly better then the youth gaolie gear however the need for flexibility and movement outweighs the need for high end materials that will last several years. In the junior level gear, specs are more defined and equipment is made with performance in mind.
