Perfect set for beginning golfers. US Kids Golf sells sets based on height of child (this is recommended for about a 51inch height child-depends on stance, arm length relative to height). My son and daughter both used this set from 48-54 inches tall). Kids can choke up on a longer club but will top the ball on too short a club. Plus they grow through a set overnight. Once my son and daughter finished playing a 48” set, I extended the shafts to 51” set specs (for the 7i abd 3hybrid). I put higher launch shafts in the PW and SW. This combination of higher launch shafts in the PW and SW helped make the ball get up in the air easily. The most frustrating part in golf is when the ball doesn’t go up in the air-especially at pitch and putt, par 3’s and approach shots. I did this because my son has no issues taking a good divot to get the ball in the air. My daughter didn’t swing as hard, so I found the custom tweak helped tremendously. I kept the shafts on the 7i, 3H and Driver as they are often hit off a tee, or a little lower trajectory which actually helps get more distance. This worked as both my kids were breaking 100 by 9 years old playing from the red tees. Lastly -my theory on less clubs when kids are first learning. There is no need to buy a full 14 club set or even 7 club half set before they can consistently drive it 125 plus yards or hit a PW at least 50-60 yards. My daughter is just now hitting the PW 70 yards yards as she just outgrew this set. If you child hits it longer than that-then you should move up to the Tour Series set- which has a stiffer shaft. My daughter now hits the tour series clubs. Driver is definitely scratched from a lot of range sessions. Kids drop clubs on cart path, driveway and range. Just wanted to be transparent. The rest of the clubs are normal and tear. Hope this summary helps you get your kid into golf as quickly and as enjoyably as possible.
