This home made mat is made from high quality synthetic turf specifically made for turf baseball diamonds. It has a Regulation Size Home Plate and I can add 3 ft boxes very easy if you want. These mats are used by the Major League, College and High School Teams. Protect Your Home Plate Area From Being Dug Out During Practice, don’t cancel practice because your home plate area is too wet to safely take batting practice. Lightweight and Easy To Move Around. The longevity of this mat will last longer than the 300$ mats that are being sold on the market. I recommend putting a fine sand (playground or beach)over the top to way it down or you can even buy a 5 gal bucket of artificial turf filler from Home Depot if you want, it depends on if you plan on moving it. If you’re keeping in one spot use spikes along edges( one point on turf one off) I recommend sneakers to add longevity but you can also use rubber cleats. (Never metal cleats) Also included is a large zip lock bag of rubber pellets(last picture)for traction and longevity.. You don’t need much just sprinkle a handful over the top of mat every once in a while. Also when the mat fibers begin to roll over because that’s all that will happen after use, all you have to do is add a little sand and use a broom or something with tines to pull it back.. very easy to maintain, but important that you follow these steps. The mat has about 2 1/2-3 inches fibers and you want the atleast 1” of sand, preferably 1 3/4”. This will hold fibers up and extend the lifespan of your mat. Mat is the real deal and if properly maintained will last years.
