Goalie leg pad sizing often varies by brand, but there is one commonly used formula you can use to find your ballpark size. Take your hockey skate size, ankle to knee measurement (inches), and knee to mid-thigh measurement (inches), then add them up and you should have a good idea of where to start looking. Remember to consult the seller before purchasing in order to get a better idea of the fit, sizing, etc.

Example measurement Skate size: 9 Ankle to knee: 17” Knee to thigh: 7” Your approximate pad size is 33”+1

Glove
: Worn on the hand, this glove catches the puck. It’s typically larger with a deep pocket to trap the puck, and the thumb is often reinforced to prevent injury.

Blocker: Worn on the hand that holds the stick, this is a padded piece of equipment designed to block pucks and deflect them away from the goalie’s body.
