CCM Extreme Flex 6 Goalie Full Set

The CCM Extreme Flex 6 goalie full set caters to modern butterfly goalies who rely on a wide range of motion for acrobatic saves and reactionary movement. CCM achieves this through a new Dualite Core technology, featuring a stiffer inner core for better ice sealing and a more flexible outer core for enhanced mobility. Additionally, the Extreme Flex 6 has a redesigned knee block system for improved stability and a deeper boot channel for a closer fit. This combination ensures the goalie stays connected to the ice while maximizing their reach and flexibility. The Extreme Flex 6 incorporates premium materials and construction throughout the pads, glove, and blocker for long-lasting durability and protection.

Perfect set for:
Competitive goalies who want exceptional butterfly flexibility and a wide range of motion.

Key features include:

Dualitecore+ TechnologyA stiffer inner core for better ice sealing and rebound control, paired with a more flexible outer core for enhanced mobility when performing butterfly slides and reactionary saves.
New DRS PRO SystemFeatures a one-piece landing zone coupled with an all-new hyper-absorbent knee stack construction for enhanced protection from repeated impacts dropping into the butterfly.
Deeper Boot ChannelThis allows the goalie's boot to sit deeper within the pad, creating a more connected feel with the ice for better control and power transfer.
Control Rebound TechnologySpecific foam inserts designed to dampen softer shots for easier control while still allowing for powerful rebounds on harder shots.
Premium Materials and ConstructionHigh-quality materials throughout the pads, glove, and blocker to ensure long-lasting durability and protection.
FlexMotion 2 Wrist System (Glove)Strategic segmentation and adjustability in the glove's wrist area. This allows for a customized fit and maximizes the goalie's range of motion.

Top Competitors

While the Extreme Flex 6 prioritizes unmatched flexibility for the butterfly goalie, the True 12.2 takes a more hybrid approach. Its standout feature is the design itself, which combines a high-density foam upper leg for butterfly goalies with a traditional shin and boot construction for flexibility. This caters to goalies who utilize a mix of techniques. The Bauer Mach targets a balance between mobility and power. It achieves this with a one-piece thermoformed shin and boot construction, offering a stable base for powerful pushes and a close-fitting feel for butterfly movements.

Progression of the Extreme Flex 6 Goalie Set

The CCM Extreme Flex 6 succeeds a previous model, the CCM Extreme Flex 5. Here's a breakdown of the progression:

CCM Extreme Flex 4

This set features upgrades including an overall weight reduction, small details addressed in the leg channel, a new glove lining, upgrades to the internal core, new toe ties, and a redesign of the knee cradle. The overall responsiveness of the set has been improved, and the color zones have extended onto the outer roll.

CCM Extreme Flex 5

Some of the biggest upgrades to the 5 are an all-new Molded Knee Roll designed to maximize stability in the knee area, a redesigned boot pad to work in sync with the gear's flat front face, and an added flex motion back area in the goalie glove.

CCM Extreme Flex 6

This set includes significant upgrades to the pads, including the DRS PRO knee stack and stabilizer and new responsive technologies in the blocker. The Flex 6 comes stock with the new 581 glove, which has a 15% weight reduction, upgraded strapping, and increased range of motion.

👍 Pros
The rebound control is superb. Most of them died right in front of me. These pads are super lightweight with an awesome slide.
I like the cinch wrist strap because it can be adjusted more easily throughout a game.
The added stiffness above the knee creates a really solid butterfly seal.
👎 Cons
The glove break-in has been rough. Almost 3 weeks of working it daily and it’s finally starting to move.
I have a narrow butterfly, and the +1 doesn't quite give me the 5-hole closure I'd like to have.
They don’t slide on the ice particularly easily. I’m lazy and really like sliding around in pads like Bauer and Vaughn.
The EFlex line is known for being a flexible, mobile pad. It features a one-piece sliding edge, just like the Axis 2 model, but the EFlex 6 is slightly softer and leads into the flexible pad market. So if the Axis pad was too stiff but the EFlex 4 or 5 is too soft, the EFlex 6 is right in the middle. It's very popular, but the glove has the same internal strapping system as the Axis 2 and basically has no finger stalls, and not everyone likes that. That specific glove is called the 581 break. The whole set is still very light. The pads and blocker have solid durability with its SpeedSkin material.
