The Bauer Vapor 2X preceded the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite. The Hyperlite features a few upgrades over its predecessor:

  • Weight reduction: The Hyperlite utilizes advanced carbon layering technology to create a lightweight, durable stick, weighing only 385 grams compared to the 440 gram 2X.
  • HyperCore blade: With this new blade core made with carbon fiber, the Hyperlite ups both release speed and durability by 20%.
  • Shaft technology: The Hyperlite features the Asymmetrical TeXtreme shaft construction, using lightweight and responsive material to optimize energy transfer throughout the stick.
👍 Pros
Stick feels great while stickhandling and great pop.
My hands felt better just picking this thing up.
The feel of the puck is phenomenal with this blade.
👎 Cons
Within a few weeks of purchasing, the stick developed a crack.
It snapped low on the shaft after one month of use.
Not durable at all, first one broke on the heel, second one did the same thing.

For its time, the Hyperlite was the lightest weight quick-release stick designed by Bauer. Now it's the Hyperlite 2. It's going to be best for the quick-release player. Anybody who likes to shoot...forwards love it. But defensemen use Vapors as well. It's all based on feel. The Hyperlite is a shooter's stick all the way. It's for someone who loves to collect goals.
