### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* Good bat, with less pop than 1-piece aluminum. Ideal for singles with a lighter swing weight. Composite material, so have 2 bats for high competition.
* My son is 11 years old. I was worried he would struggle to swing a 30/20 bat this year, considering he used a 29/19 bat last year. However, this bat is amazing! It is hot right out of the wrapper. I wouldn't even think about using another bat this year; this one is perfect.
* This is the best overall USA bat on the market. It has decent pop and great balance, making it a high-quality option.

**CONS**

* "The bat developed cracks in the sweet spot from regular use during batting practice. After six months, the cracks grew larger until there were two major ones, resembling a cave-in."
* Bat has pop but I've had a couple of friends crack this same bat after 4 games.
* Bought it for my son, 2nd time he used it, it cracked. He only hit league baseballs with it in warm weather.

### **Certification**: BBCOR, USSSA, USA

### Expert Notes ([Tony from BatExperts](https://sidelineswap.com/batexperts))

The CF Zen has been discontinued. The early models from 2017 - 2021 were called CF Zens. After that, DeMarini changed the name to CF. The first models of the CF Zen were very high-performance. But they also tended to break, so DeMarini made them stronger, made them stiffer, made them more durable. And when they did that, the bats didn't hit as well. The early models were better performers than the later models.

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* This is an excellent one-piece bat with a balanced feel.
* My son is using his first BBCOR bat. Although he was previously using a -5 USSSA bat, he hasn't noticed any difference in the weight. He has already had success with it on the big ball field this fall. This one-piece alloy bat is great, especially in the Northeast where temperatures are cooler.
* I am very satisfied with this bat. My son has recently started playing on a 60/90 field. This bat has excellent balance and a large sweet spot. It has great pop right out of the wrapper, so there is no need to break it in. Additionally, it looks great too.

**CONS**

* Bat is too light, causing players to swing early. It doesn't have as much power as a BBCOR composite bat.
* Not suitable for heavy hitters; ideal for children who require a lighter bat for swinging. Grip must be perfect, or it will sting hands.
* The sound changed, and when the handle was tapped on the ground, it produced a vibrating sound.

### **Certification**: BBCOR, USA

### Expert Notes ([Tony](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/batexperts))

DeMarini's Voodoo One swings light and offers a ton of pop thanks to its stiff one-piece alloy construction. While the small barrel might not be for everyone, contact hitters and power swingers both appreciate its speed and distance potential. If you're a player seeking a light bat with serious pop, the Voodoo One deserves a swing.

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

- My son hit three home runs with the Goods bat at a college prospect camp this weekend. He says the current version feels amazing and is the best one yet.

- I upgraded to this bat from my broken 2022 Goods. It has phenomenal pop and is the best in the Goods line.

- This bat bangs!!! I bought this bat three weeks ago and this barrel is huge!

**CONS**

- My son loved this bat from day one. After three weeks of use the plastic piece where the shaft meets the barrel cracked. Definitely expect something better than this for $450. Haven't started the warranty process yet so we'll see how that goes.

- The bat handle now telescopes into the barrel after the junction cracked. We had expected better quality for the price and it's hard to accept a replacement that arrives 2-3 weeks later at best.

- Bat bought 2 months ago broke when I dropped it. It's a good bat but not very durable. Connector piece broke and it telescoped.

### Expert Notes ([Tony from BatExperts](https://sidelineswap.com/batexperts))

The Goods is a top performer and the 2024 model is the most expensive hybrid bat on the market. It's an end loaded bat for that power hitter in your lineup. The alloy is strong, and it has a good whip to it. Overall, The Goods is in the top five in the hybrids for both BBCOR and youth. The youth was less popular because it was a heavier-feeling.

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* A kid in a slump hit his first-ever home run with this bat. It arrived just in time for a playoff game and worked great for my average-sized 11-year-old son - not too heavy.
* After breaking in this bat properly, it really performs well! My son uses it for our USSSA 8U Travel team and you can easily tell when it's hit on the sweet spot. The bat is also forgiving on mis-hits, often resulting in faster grounders than usual (for this age group) and very high pop.
* This bat has more pop than most USA bats, similar to BBCOR/USSA. We broke it in with tee hits, and my son hit missiles and balls over the fence on the first day. Expensive, but worth it for avid players.

**CONS**

* Great indoor results with the new non-Easton bat during coach pitch pre-season. Disappointing mid-season pop-up infield hits. I've always used Easton before, won't try other brands again.
* Great pop, but poor performance when missing sweet spot. Treated with care, but still cracked in Apr. Son upset I didn't allow use in cold weather, with heavy balls or pitching machines. It was mostly used as game bat last year, did not last into 2nd season.
* My son's bat barrel cracked after hitting his first HR, leaving him without a bat during All Stars and elimination series.

The DeMarini CF is a classic model that goes back to 2015 and offers one of the hottest models (2017) but is limited in use as its performance surpasses bat standards. Overall, the CF reflects a classic design which has been the same since 2015. A two-piece composite that offers a large barrel and sweet spot with a lightweight handle that creates a whip-like feel to it with the flexible connection between the handle and barrel.

The DeMarini Zoa sets itself apart with its Continuous Fiber Composite Barrel, offering a unique blend of durability, power, and a vast sweet spot. While the Louisville Slugger Meta is renowned for its EKO composite barrel, emphasizing a combination of swing speed and barrel control, and the Easton Maxum Ultra is favored for its seamless carbon construction providing the longest barrel in the game, the Zoa specializes in delivering a high-performance hitting experience with enhanced feedback and energy transfer, making it a prime choice for competitive players aiming to maximize their impact at the plate.

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* My son just got a new bat to replace his META and it's great! It's hot out of the wrapper, has a forgiving barrel and almost no vibration. He absolutely crushed the ball. We can't wait to see how it performs when it's fully broken in.
* If you like end-loaded bats, this one has surprising pop with low noise. It feels good when squared up and I personally love it. My rating is 8/10.
* "This bat increased my exit velocity and feels smooth when swinging. It's the best bat I've ever used."

**CONS**

* This bat is heavy and can be hard to locate the barrel. I recommended for very strong players. If you swing a drop 5 alloy, try a drop 8 Zoa.
* Sounds dead. My son hates it. We bought this bat because of the good reviews. Its expensive and has no pop.
* Only downside is that the weather needs to be warmer or it will crack the bat due to it being all composite.

### **Certification**: BBCOR

### Expert Notes ([Tony](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/batexperts))

The Zoa has a strong barrel and connection, making it a heavier, end loaded bat overall. Your smaller players don't get the same bat speed or same performance with that Zoa as they do with the CF. The Zoa is one of those power hitter two-piece composites.

* I bought this bat three weeks ago, and I must say that the barrel is massive! I had been using the Cat X for a while and decided to switch to a new bat. I picked up the Goods, and in my opinion, it's a far superior bat, especially if you're an experienced hitter.

**CONS**

* "My son loved using this $450 bat, but after three weeks the plastic piece where the shaft meets the barrel cracked. Haven't started the warranty process yet. Another review mentioned a similar issue, so buyer beware!"
* Bat bought 3 months ago. Loved the balance and pop but junction cracked. Handle now telescopes into barrel. Expected better quality for price. Replacement in 2-3 wks hard to accept. Will stick with one-piece bat.
* Brand new bat, probably only used for about 20 swings during live hitting. During their first at-bat in a game, the two-piece connection of the bat cracked. However, the bat still had great pop.

The Goods One Piece is the end loaded, heavier version of the Voodoo One. Very similar design, a one piece alloy bat. You have a tiny market share that uses it; the popularity isn't as strong as the two piece simply because The Goods One Piece seems to rattle. If you don't hit it in the barrel's sweet spot, you can get a little feedback in the hands, a slight vibration. The Goods two-piece has a damper built in, so if you didn't hit it just right, it absorbed some of that vibration, whereas the one-piece doesn't have that technology. \

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* Hardly an break in period with lots of pop. I also like the color design (didn't think I would).
* Seems to be a fairly hot bat out of the wrapper. Probably about 300 hits in on it.
* My son’s first at bat with this new bat was a homerun over the fence at 11 years old!!

**CONS**

* I purchased this bat a month or two ago and absolutely loved it. It has great pop and swings lightly. However, today, after only about 350 swings during normal batting practice, the bat telescoped, which is quite ridiculous as I have only heard of telescoping occurring after tapping the bat on the ground.
* Makes a weird rattling noise every time it touches the ground or hits the ball. Overall poor quality.
* I had this bat for a few weeks before it snapped in half at the handle.

### Expert Notes ([Tony from BatExperts](https://sidelineswap.com/batexperts))

The Zoa is a two piece composite. Very good bat. It has a little bit of an end loaded feel to it. The Zoa glitch is the Zoa with a flashy new paint job. For around $50 more, you can get this special color. They survey the kids each year and ask, "What's your favorite color"? It doesn't make the bat perform any better. But you know a lot of it is fashion.

## DeMarini Voodoo Baseball Bat

The DeMarini Voodoo is a popular bat known for its two-piece hybrid construction, combining an alloy barrel with a composite handle. This technological twist provides a sweet blend of pop, performance, and reduced hand sting for players—and has created some well-deserved hype for the Voodoo. Founded in 1989, DeMarini has emerged as an innovative designer for baseball bats at every level. The balanced swing weight and maximized pop of the Voodoo bat is proof of this progression.

**Perfect bat for:** Elite high school and collegiate players who want to maximize their hitting power without sacrificing speed and control.

### Key features include:

* **X14 Alloy Barrel:** Delivers a precision-engineered alloy for optimal weight distribution, providing a blend of speed, balance, and power.
* **3Fusion Connection:** Seamlessly integrates the barrel and handle, optimizing weight control while reducing vibration for an improved feel upon contact.
* **ReAction End Cap:** Increases barrel performance without sacrificing swing speed, allowing players to drive the ball with greater force.
* **Two-Piece Hybrid Construction:** Combines a robust alloy barrel with a composite handle, ensuring durability and comfort during intense play.
* **Tremendous Pop:** The Voodoo’s construction is designed to give hitters a satisfying “pop” sound upon contact, indicative of power and quality.
* **Balanced Swing Weight:** Engineered for optimal swing speed, making it easier for hitters to control their swings and hit with precision.

The DeMarini Voodoo stands out primarily for its superior vibration reduction and balanced swing weight. The Louisville Slugger Meta is known for its composite barrel that provides a larger sweet spot, while the Easton ADV 360 features an ultra-light swing weight and custom Lizard Skins grip. The choice between these models often comes down to personal preference between a lean towards power (DeMarini Voodoo), sweet spot size (Louisville Slugger Meta), or customization and swing weight (Easton ADV 360).

### What people are saying (edited for clarity and brevity)

**PROS**

* I enjoy the balanced weight distribution of the bat in my hands.
* The bat has a really good swing weight, and I know it won't break easily.
* It has a fantastic pop and an excellent feel with no vibration at all.

**CONS**

### **Certification**: BBCOR, USSSA, USA

### Expert Notes ([Tony](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/batexperts))

The Voodoo is an older model. It's been discontinued and replaced by a new bat called The Goods. Both are very similar in design. The Voodoo is a heavier bat designed for larger players who want more power and distance. It's one of the better performers in that two-piece design; it's a composite handle with an alloy barrel, which means they call it a hybrid because it has both materials inside the bat (alloy and composite), giving it an enloaded feel.
