The Bauer factory blades were used on outdoor rinks only. The Step Blacksteel blades were only used on indoor ice. My skater used 1 set of the Step Blacksteel blades as a primary and the other as backup. The backup blades are like brand new with years of wear left. The primary have more than enough use left and could become the “backup” blades. STEP is now owned by CCM so these blades are impossible to get for Bauer.
