External Material Just as the original Axis catcher did, the Axis 2 trapper uses D3O Speed Skin for superior maneuverability and military-grade protection. Speed Skin is incredibly lightweight, and the game-ready fit makes it easy to break the glove in quickly. The molded Flexmotion 2 backhand offers amazing mobility while keeping your glove hand fully protected. Break Angle The Axis 2 debuts the brand new 591 glove break angle, particularly optimized for better closure, feel, and responsiveness for the butterfly goalie. When first trialing the glove, you may notice that it feels and closes very similarly to the 590 break, which is no coincidence. The 591 break is modeled after the 590 break with some modifications made along the inside and over the outward constructions. Pocket Design The pocket uses a double straight T design for better visibility and depth on the catch. This kind of style is nice for the butterfly goalie, who often has to make decisions at odd angles; the easier it is to track and funnel the puck into the catcher, the easier it will be to make those clutch saves across the crease.
