It's a great skate if you don't really need the pro-level durability because you might only be skating on the weekends, but you still want something decent.

If you skate ten times a week with these skates, they will only last you a little while, maybe a month or two. However, the main thing is that there is no quick or easy release for the metal runners or the blades. Many players look for skates with a metal release, which will let them swap out their blades. The more you sharpen them, the thinner they get. And in this case, you'd have to replace the whole bottom, the holder. It's more intensive than just clicking a button and adding new blades. But really, a solid skate for those who don’t skate every day.

The Tri-Tech Tongue is high density felt for protection without limiting mobility, and the SpeedBlade 4.0 holder angles forward for more aggressive turning and cuts. The high quality SpeedBlade Hyperglide steel runner has a hard tempered finish that reduces friction and drag for efficient gliding and increased energy performance.

### Expert Notes 

Aesthetically, this skate is a fan favorite among hockey players who aren’t ashamed to say they care about the look of their gear. JetSpeed FT1 skates are praised for their black contoured boot with subtle red accents. This look is clean and sharp, and is very similar to Bauer’s 1X LE skate. In addition, the soft white tongue is extremely comfortable and adds some flashiness for those players who like to let their tongues fly while they’re skating. The Tri-Tech felt tongue and Smooth Contour Comfort Pro Pads allow for maximum protection without excessive weight. Lastly, the SpeedBlade skate steel is perfectly balanced for superior edge control in composite JetSpeed390 holders, designed for enhanced stiffness and better power transfer.

### Expert Notes

These wheels have a sweet look, and are comparable to the higher end Jetspeed FT1 skates from CCM. With an all black contoured boot, complemented by low-key red and white flare along the sides and back of the tendon guard. In terms of performance, they are comfortable and are quite form-fitting. The soft tongue and narrower heel pocket helps to keep the foot steady, without any noticeable pressure points. All in all: these skates offer a lot of comfort and a sharp look at a mid-range price.
