DeMarini Whisper Bat

The DeMarini Whisper features a balanced swing weight for powerful exit velocities. Its design includes extra space between the inner and outer barrel walls to enhance ball performance on contact, making it ideal for advanced high school and college players. The two-piece composite construction and Anomaly Connection System provide responsiveness while offering a stiffer feel compared to the Prism+ and CF models, effectively reducing vibration.

Perfect bat for:
Advanced hitters in high school and college fastpitch softball.

Key features include:

Amplified Gapped WallUtilizes a larger gap between the inner and outer barrel walls, creating a significant "pop" on contact, resulting in harder-hit balls.
Two-Piece CompositeAllows for more flex in the barrel upon impact, maximizing the trampoline effect and generating power.
Anomaly Connection SystemThis streamlined connection point between the barrel and handle reduces bulkiness and improves feel.
Anomaly End CapDesigned to maintain barrel integrity and improve overall bat performance.
Balanced Swing WeightSuitable for both power hitters and contact hitters who value a smooth and controlled swing.

The Easton Ghost Advanced prioritizes a similar balance between power and control. The Ghost Advanced features a double barrel for a larger sweet spot and a responsive feel on contact. It also boasts a lightweight swing weight for easy bat control for young players. The Louisville Slugger Nexus offers a versatile option with a Lite Alloy construction for a lightweight swing weight and a Triple Wall X-Fusion barrel for a large sweet spot, similar to the DeMarini Whisper. The Nexus uses a two-piece composite design for maximizing energy transfer on contact.

Progression of the DeMarini Whisper Bat

The Whisper is DeMarini’s new flagship fastpitch bat and possibly attempts to replace the CF. There are no previous versions of the Whisper. 2023 is its first iteration.

👍 Pros
It has a really good pop. Barely swung to put the ball in play and it was a line drive that bounced off the fence.
The Whisper is such a great bat, it has an amazing sound when hit and the ball goes much further than my last bat.
My daughter really likes the feel of this bat, and her hitting has really improved.
👎 Cons
The barrel cracked and broke at the end of the season. Not the most durable. It lasted less than a year.
The first bat we ordered cracked within 2 months. I took the extra time to break in the second one, but it cracked too. Poor quality. I don’t recommend.
My daughter barely used the bat outside and it cracked nearly immediately.
The Whisper is a great bat for fastpitch players who want a balanced swing, a large sweet spot, and a quieter bat sound. It might not be the heaviest bat out there, but for pure contact hitting and sneaky pop, the Whisper can be a game-changer. The Whisper falls within the mid-range price point for fastpitch softball bats. It's a great value for the performance and technology you're getting.
