Maverik Tank 2 Lacrosse Head

The Maverik Tank 2 is a pinnacle of defensive strength in lacrosse. Known for its ultra-stiff construction, it features a 6-strut Xrail design, durable materials, a wide face shape, and a high pocket design. This head upholds Maverik's tradition of reliable defensive performance, prioritizing rigidity and ground ball control.

Perfect head for:
The defenseman who wants the stiffness and strength to lift, poke, and slap with confidence.

Key features include:

Level 5 bottom rail made for a high pocket.
Ground Control Technology for an engineered scoop angle, designed to pick up groundballs with ease.
X-Rail Technology distributes the stress to the opposite rail creating a lightweight and stiff design.
Made in the USA.

The ECD Rebel Defense features a slightly shallower pocket and a pinched face shape, which is ideal for precise checks and tight possession control in close defensive situations. Conversely, the STX Hammer 1K prioritizes loose ball dominance with its wider face and shallower pocket, making it a weapon for scooping ground balls and winning battles in open spaces.

Progression of the Maverik Tank 2

The Maverik Tank lacrosse head series features two models: the Tank and the Tank 2. Here's a breakdown of their progression:

Original Maverik Tank
  • Level 5 Bottom Rail.
  • 4-Strut Design for maximum stiffness and rail support.
  • Two screw holes for added head security.
  • Wide face design for intercepting passes.
  • Multiple stringing holes for custom pocket options.
Maverik Tank 2.0
  • Updated with Ground Control scoop so that defensemen will own the GB battle.
  • Newly introduced X-Rail Technology.
  • 6-Struts to redefine the standards of stiffness in poke checks and slaps.
👍 Pros
Perfect defensive head. Wide scoop and heavy as an, uh, tank.
It's good for defense but too wide for LSM; still passable, though. Incredibly durable.
Very stiff, perfect for scooping up ground balls.
👎 Cons
The head needs a significant break-in period to feel comfortable.
The face shape is tricky! A+ on GBs, F on everything else.
Stringing this thing is a challenge due to the head's width.
The Maverik Tank 2 is my favorite head. I've used it for about 3 months, and it has been great. I can string it faster and better than any of my other heads. I've used it on defense, and it is very durable
