The M5 Pro is focused on giving a lot of power. Normally, you'd hear a Supreme or Bauer Pro model going for $900+. The M5 Pro is different than that. It has all the Pro features, but for a cheaper price—more of a mid-range level price. So the M5 Pro has all the same comfort features, durability, the ability to change your steel, and the traditional supreme anatomic fit. With the new Fit System mechanisms, the M5 Pro allows you to customize whether you want it wide, narrow, etc.

* After getting them baked they are unreal. Feels like a pair of sneakers. The LS Pulse blades took some time getting used to for a beginner like me but after a few sessions they’re solid and they make skating somewhat easier. 
* These skates are awesome and super stable. For me there was a slight learning curve (probably more so because I have been skating in the wrong size for a good portion of my life) but these skates are game changers. The glide, the comfort, the stability, everything.

CONS:



* While the stiffness is good for intermediate players, some advanced skaters might find the Vapor 3X a bit too flexible for their needs. If you're a powerful skater who demands maximum energy transfer, you might want to consider a stiffer boot from the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite or Supreme lines.
* I like my skates tied tight. And due to this, the top eyelets of these skates did not last much beyond the warranty period. 
* The hard plastic eyelet material is impossible to get tight around upper foot and ankles. The boot is very low volume and shallow so I had to swap out for Supremes. Toe box is great though.

The 3x Pro is made of light materials and is super durable. It's a pro model, so it has top-level comfort with high-quality foam and an asymmetrical toe cap. The 2X Pro was such a hit, and it's kind of hard to follow up... but they made a decent skate with the 3X Pro.

* Skilled players who are used to top-of-the-line skates might find the Vapor 3X a bit too flexible. The flex profile is geared towards balance and maneuverability, which can sacrifice some energy transfer for powerful strides. 
* Blade holder cracked after a deflection during a game, and the material of the boot is already falling apart. Had these for about 4 months before having to buy Hyperlites because of the poor construction.
* The Vapor 3X doesn't offer any heat-molding capabilities and while the liner is comfortable…I have some wicked pressure points and am disappointed with the customization options.

The 3X was released close to the HyperLite, which was a revolutionary skate at the time, so it kinda got lost in the mix. It's still a good skate and very similar to the 3X Pro model but without as much comfort. I've had these many times; it's a mid-tier, performance-level skate where you can undoubtedly play a few seasons (probably not in the NHL), but in University, high-level competitive play. The top-level pro-Vapors might last you three years, whereas these might last one and a half two years, but it's the same kind of comfort. It just comes down to your abilities.

PROS:



* These skates are top-of-the-line. The composite boot provides incredible stiffness and responsiveness. My strides feel powerful, and the edges hold like nobody's business.  
* The TotalFit Pro+ liner with the asymmetrical tongue offers a fantastic, locked-in fit. The liner feels supportive and comfortable from the start, and the heat-molding capabilities allowed me to get a truly custom fit around my ankles and heels.
* Despite the stiffness for power transfer, the JetSpeed FT4 feels surprisingly lightweight.  The fit allows for good mobility in the ankle, and the boot design helps with quick turns and overall agility. 

CONS:



* These skates are expensive. While the performance is good, the price tag is only realistic for serious players or those with a professional budget. There are very good skates available at lower price points.
* Unfortunately after using these for less than a season, a puck from a shot hit the interior of the skate and created a huge crack in the "one piece boot". I was shocked at how easily these skates split open.
* These skates needed a longer break-in period than I expected, especially compared to other JetSpeed models I’ve tried. It took them a few weeks of use before the skates felt truly comfortable.

Many people compare the FT4 Pro to the HyperLite, but the FT4 has much more power. It's an incredibly powerful skate, and the fit is perfect. I would do my stride in the FT4 Pro and realized pretty quickly that I needed to watch out! I'm not used to the power. You see a lot of NHL players still using the FT4 Pro. I'll see a player going really fast and think wow, look at that. Oh yeah, they are wearing the JetSpeed FT4 Pro.

Bauer 1S Skates are the industry leaders in custom stock skates. Bauer skates feature interchangeable tongue flexes, and its innovative C-Flex tendon guard. For the 1S, the newly improved C-Flex tendon guards allow for increased flex throughout your entire stride, so you add more power for the entire time that your skates are in contact with the ice. The three different stiffness options for the tendon guard allow you to customize your skates to your exact preferences. The one-piece injected heel and ankle core offer increased stability and durability, while the interior Hydrophobic Microfiber liner wicks away moisture and keeps the foot dry. Anaform foam padding protects the ankle while a two-piece felt tongue with injected high-density foam offers protection from impacts and lace bite. The main thing regarding the X500 is the lack of stiffness throughout the boot relative to some of the higher end vapor models. For someone skating 1-2 times per week, they work quite well and are priced on the lower end of the spectrum, which is ideal if you’re on a budget. The low level of boot stiffness does allow for greater comfort initially, and they are super easy to break in and get used to. The entire line of Vapor skates has always been a good looking line of skates as well, as they all tend to stick to the all-black boot with red detailing.
