* The Jetspeed FT6 skates are surprisingly comfortable, even for a high-performance model. The liner is thermoformable, which allows for a customized fit around my ankle for better pressure point distribution and overall comfort.

It also has more flexibility and memory foam to prevent lace bite, and it addresses range-of-motion issues. This skate offers speed, power, and a good range of motion. You can really dig in and get that power and still go with the angles.

This skate is intended for people who skate about once a week and are not super competitive. It'll hold up. If you skate ten times a week with these skates, they will only last you a little while, maybe a month or two. However, the main thing is that there is no quick or easy release for the metal runners or the blades. Many players look for skates with a metal release, which will let them swap out their blades. The more you sharpen them, the thinner they get. And in this case, you'd have to replace the whole bottom, the holder. It's more intensive than just clicking a button and adding new blades. But really, a solid skate for those who don’t skate every day.

* These skates needed a longer break-in period than I expected, especially compared to other JetSpeed models I’ve tried. It took them a few weeks of use before the skates felt truly comfortable.

Many people compare the FT4 Pro to the HyperLite, but the FT4 has much more power. It's an incredibly powerful skate, and the fit is perfect. I would do my stride in the FT4 Pro and realized pretty quickly that I needed to watch out! I'm not used to the power. You see a lot of NHL players still using the FT4 Pro. I'll see a player going really fast and think wow, look at that. Oh yeah, they are wearing the JetSpeed FT4 Pro.

* I purchased these after skating in Bauer Supremes for the last four years. They are head and shoulders above the Supremes in terms of comfort and feel on the ice. The one-piece boot is phenomenal.
* Despite the stiffness for power transfer, the AS3 Pro feels surprisingly lightweight. This allows for quick starts, good agility, and overall responsiveness on the ice.

* These skates are definitely on the expensive side.  While the performance is undeniable, the price tag might not be realistic for everyone.
* These skates are quite stiff out of the box and possibly too stiff for some skaters.
* These skates need a longer break-in period than expected. It took them a few weeks of use before they felt truly comfortable.

The AS3 Pro is a carbon composite one-piece boot. It's a higher-level skate with a premium liner for moisture wicking, an interchangeable, custom-fitting tongue, and an improved blade lock system that secures the blade to the holder. Swapping out blades is super easy. The AS3 will have a more anatomical, snug fit. It has good heel locking, giving you reall good acceleration and power.

The Ribcor Elite boot construction is made from a Carbon Composite that keeps the skate lightweight, without compromising ankle protection. The heat-moldable interior dual liner is a Tacky Nash with Clarino providing cool, dry comfort while the Tri-Guard Tongue offers protection from heavy impacts. The SpeedBlade 4.0 holder is 4mm higher than traditional CCM models, which provides more power and facilitates explosive turns. The SpeedBlade black runner offers a long edge life and reduces drag.

### Expert Notes

For starters, RibCor 50K skates feature the black steel that holds an edge very well and has great longevity between sharpens. The boot will feel pretty stiff the first time you wear these, but overall these skates hold up very well overtime -- especially nice, given their average price point. Pump technology is also a nice feature of 50K skates. CCM’s Advanced Pump allows you to control the amount of air that’s circulated into the air bladders around your ankles on your skates. This helps lock in your heel by eliminating negative space and providing you the option to customize your fit. In addition, The RibCor 50K has a tapered fit in the ankle and a slightly narrower design around the heel and the forefoot compared to the Tacks and RBZ lines from CCM.
