* These skates are not wide enough. I thought the tight pressure in my toe would go away, but it's actually worse. I should have gone with custom skates.
* They feel heavy… almost clunky when I’m on the ice.
* These skates are narrower than I like, and I will likely have to have them punched out. I am unimpressed with the profiled blade; I like the black series blades better.

Similar to the 3S, the Pro version has even more bells and whistles. It features the classic pro tongue with molded inserts for a customized fit. It still has the classic Supreme composite boot and higher-level comfort foam. The higher the level of skate, the more comfort in the foam, and usually, the less time it takes to break in. You still see the 3S Pro in the NHL, and they hold up well. You can also quickly change out the blades and keep going. Players use them for years without any kind of loss in performance in terms of power.

* Two thumbs up for 2X’s. 5 years on my last set of skates and it was time for an upgrade, and the 2X’s do not disappoint. Very light, comfortable, and fast. 
* The fit on these skates is excellent. The new anatomical design with a wider toe box feels more comfortable than previous Vapor models, especially for players with wider feet. 
* The boot on these skates feels lighter than expected. The responsiveness of the boot is also great, allowing for good energy transfer in my strides.

CONS:



* While the stiffness is good for intermediate players, some advanced skaters might find the Vapor 2X a bit too flexible.
* I question the longevity of the liner. While they seem fine for now, I worry about how they'll hold up with long-term use.
* The Vapor 2X offers some limited heat-molding capabilities, but not to the same extent as some higher-end Bauer skates.

The Vapor 2X is just one notch down in durability and comfort from the 2X Pro. You might not notice as much comfort right off the bat, but overall, the fit and feel are pretty much the same. The 2X will still have the asymmetrical toe cap, ankle padding, and three-piece felt tongue. If you gave someone a new pair of 2X Pros and the 2Xs, blindfolded them, and asked them to figure out which was which, they would have difficulty distinguishing between the two.

The Trueform Tech PU boot with X-Rib pattern is heat moldable and super stiff for increased support and protection. The one-piece injected heel and ankle core offer increased stability and durability, while the interior Hydrophobic Microfiber liner wicks away moisture and keeps the foot dry. Anaform foam padding protects the ankle while a two-piece felt tongue with injected high-density foam offers protection from impacts and lace bite. The main thing regarding the X500 is the lack of stiffness throughout the boot relative to some of the higher end vapor models. For someone skating 1-2 times per week, they work quite well and are priced on the lower end of the spectrum, which is ideal if you’re on a budget. The low level of boot stiffness does allow for greater comfort initially, and they are super easy to break in and get used to. The entire line of Vapor skates has always been a good looking line of skates as well, as they all tend to stick to the all-black boot with red detailing.

Bauer 1S Skates are the industry leaders in custom stock skates. Bauer skates feature interchangeable tongue flexes, and its innovative C-Flex tendon guard. For the 1S, the newly improved C-Flex tendon guards allow for increased flex throughout your entire stride, so you add more power for the entire time that your skates are in contact with the ice. The three different stiffness options for the tendon guard allow you to customize your skates to your exact preferences. Skates from the Supreme line are a little wider than those from the Vapor line, so if you have a characteristically wide foot, you should explore Supreme skates rather than Vapor skates.
