Progression of the Stealth fairway wood:

The TaylorMade Stealth fairway wood is a relatively new release, so it doesn't have a long progression of models before it. Here's a breakdown:

Before Stealth: The most immediate predecessor to the Stealth fairway wood is the TaylorMade SIM2 fairway wood. This model was known for its strong ball speed and forgiveness thanks to its forged Titanium Face and V Steel technology.

Upgrades to Stealth: The Stealth fairway wood builds upon the SIM2 with some key improvements:

  • 3D Carbon Crown: This lighter crown design allows for weight redistribution in the clubhead, promoting a lower center of gravity for higher launch and more forgiveness.
  • Twist Face Technology: This technology helps to straighten out off-center hits for more consistent distance and accuracy.
  • V Steel Sole Design (refined): The refined sole design in Stealth improves turf interaction for smoother clubhead feel, especially on mishits.
👍 Pros
This fairway wood bombs. Can't recommend it enough.
The ball jumps off this face but still high enough to land soft when needed.
Very happy with this fairway wood. It launches! The right club for my game.
👎 Cons
I’ve never had a club that snap hooked as much as this one.
Broke on a simple shot, head went flying.
Not my favorite looking club. Sounds dead.
The Stealth is a distance club. It's incredibly forgiving with a larger-than-average clubface. Just because of the clubface, it's easier to hit than many of the other Stealth models. It's best for mid to low-handicap golfers with fast swing speeds and who want to gain a little more distance. I will say it's challenging to shot-shape and hits very straight. If you've got the money to spend, this club will perform.
