The bat really seems to pop once it’s broken in. It’s fine to play as soon as you get it but it definitely gets better after some use. The only negative would be how much dirt gets stuck to the grip but it cleans off fairly easy. We bought it 1” long and added choke up rings so my son could use it for more than one season. Works great.
