Marucci CAT9 Composite Baseball Bats

The Marucci CAT 9 Composite bat is a two-piece composite bat found in USSSA, USA, and BBCOR. Unlike its alloy counterparts within the CAT series, the CAT 9 Composite provides a massive barrel and balanced swing. The connection piece helps absorb mishit balls’ sting and is identical to the one used on the BBCOR CAT 8 Connect.

Perfect bat for:
Players who see a lot of games, high pitch speeds, and who don’t mind a barrel-heavy bat.

Key features include:

Multi-Directional CompositeCreates an ultra-responsive barrel that offers a performance advantage across the entire hitting surface.
Maximum Barrel LengthProvides a larger sweet spot and potential for off-center hits to still travel far and fast.
SDX LT ConnectionReduces vibration on contact, delivering a more comfortable hitting experience.
Ring-Free Barrel ConstructionEliminates dead spots for a more consistent performance.
Micro-Perforated Soft-Touch GripEnsures comfortable, secure handling even in rigorous play conditions.
Balanced Swing Weight Optimizes bat speed and control, offering a blend for hitters who value precision as much as power.

The 3-Fusion handle offers a reduced vibration and a flex on contact. The Easton ADV 360 is a two-piece, all-composite built with Launch Composite Technology. It features an iSo CXN connection piece and a DFS Carbon Handle.

2019 - CAT8, CAT8 CONNECT, CAT COMPOSITE

2021 - CAT9, CAT9 Connect, CAT9 Composite
  • New AZR alloy for a more responsive microstructure.

  • CAT9 features a 2nd Generation AV2 Anti-vibration knob and additional weight below the hands for better control.

👍 Pros
Super easy to swing and hit the ball. It has great balance.
This bat has it all. Pop and appearance. Easy to get good exit velo.
Big sweet spot and very durable. Has a great feel and sound to it.
👎 Cons
A few hits scuff paint off bat.
When it doesn’t get hit on the sweet spot it doesn’t go very far and stings.
It's a little pricey and I already broke it... but I’m going to buy a new one because it’s an awesome bat.
The CAT9 Composite comes in two designs across two generations. The first, released in 2021, is gray, black, and red. And then it came out in red, white, blue, and gray. The first model was a more powerful, higher-performing bat. It has more exit velocity and is a hotter bat than the 2nd gen. Very durable, with very little breakage. Marucci's, across the board, have been good bats in terms of quality; they seem to last. Whether you're a power hitter or a small kid, the CAT9 Composite does very well.
