But we want to remind you that this brand also pumps out a great selection of baseball gloves! In particular, Louisville Slugger TPX baseball gloves are constructed with cowhide leather. Featuring a steer hide leather lining, and a sturdy finger welting, TPX gloves are known for being incredibly durable. The 2018 TPX glove features a dual post web (or an H-web), and an open back. The positions recommended to use the infield TPX glove include short stop, second base, and third base.

### Expert Notes

TPX gloves are pretty flashy, but they’re great for players at any level. These mitts are made with a mid-tier leather that comes about 40 percent broken in, allowing players to customize these gloves 60 percent of the way. TPX gloves are best suited for any infield position, mainly shortstop, 2B, 3B, or pitcher to be exact. This glove maintains its shape well and won’t easily experience wear and tear.  You’ll be able to use a TPX glove for several seasons if you take care of it properly!

### Expert Notes

The Pro Flare is an average glove when it comes to its leather construction and durability level. It is considered a “hold me over” glove, meaning that it is good for one to two years of consistent use before it becomes too worn down and the leather becomes wrinkly. Although Louisville Slugger is a highly respected company, they’re not know for their glove making. As a result, this glove is recommended for players who are looking to buy a backup glove, so it should be considered for high school players who are playing enough baseball that they could use a second glove in their arsenal.
