Evolution of Ski Pants

Skiing as a sport dates back to the 1800s, but it was not until the 1920s that it became commercially popular and ski fashion began to truly develop. The use of latex in the 1930s revolutionized ski pants, improving their fit and functionality. Ski pants evolved from the loose pants or skirts that the first skiers wore. During World War II, fabric was limited and ski pants were crafted from wool gabardine, not exactly a waterproof material. After the war, innovative nylon dominated the market and ski suits became more fashionable and functional, not far from the ski pants we know and use today.
