The Stallion 1K is the top midfielder head for sure. It's based on the original Stallion design that pro player Kyle Harrison used and designed for that two-way midfielder. The 1K has an improved stiffness, shape retention, and an updated scoop. PLL rookie, Nick Nakeie Montgomery, who ranked 28th in Duke history in career points, also uses this head. I like this head because it can be used both on the offensive side of midfield and the defensive side. It weighs in at about 4.7 oz, making it lighter than the current ECD DNA 2.0, StringKing Mark 2V, and Mark 2T.

The top of the head has a slimmed-down scoop that’s designed for face-offs and to make ground balls easier. It has a shorter throat to make the top hand position closer to the ball for more control. It has 4 screw holes on the throat to ensure the head doesn’t rattle.

* This stood up to wicked abuse. Matched with HERO mesh, this setup was very reliable, with repeatable results every day. By far my go-to head for any situation.

This head would be the go-to for players like Connor DeSimone.

Although the head has maximum stiffness and strength, the ACP technology also reduces the weight of the head to only 4.8 ounces, one of the lightest in the game to increase shot speeds. The STX Surgeon 500 is legal at the NFHS and Youth levels and is the perfect head for attackmen looking for a head designed for ball control and strength.

The Surgeon 500 by STX is one of the most popular heads among attackmen. Its super narrow face shape is one of the best for an attackman. It also features a very stiff scoop, which helps create a channel for increased accuracy on shots, while at the same time helping to generate more power. This head is not legal for current high school or college play, since it does not meet the three-inch throat rule. As a result, the Surgeon 500 is mainly recommended for youth players or adult rec league players, where the rules are not as strict.

Easily one of the all-time most popular heads, the Eclipse head by STX is used by a majority of goalies at all levels of the game. One of the main reasons why it’s so popular is because it has one of the widest face shapes compared to the other goalie heads on the market. This larger size helps with just about everything a goalie does: clearing, catching, saving, and passing. Even though it's got the widest area, it's still a very accurate head when strung correctly. There’s an abundance of stringing holes for just about any stringing pattern, and creating a pocket with a great channel is super easy.
