* This head was meant to be my backup, but now I use it as my starter. I highly recommend it for offensive players, especially attackmen. It's perfect!
* Good control up close or running from X, but compared to Kinetik 3, the ball sails high/wide from >20ft out. Tough for sweeping alley attacks.
* Throws great and I have great control with the ball.

* It does feel a bit stiffer in the top section...definitely stiffer than the 900
* Compared to other competitor heads, the Stallion 1K offers fewer sidewall stringing holes.
* I understand this is a high-end midfield head, but it’s a bit pricey compared to what else is out there.

The Stallion 1K is the top midfielder head for sure. It's based on the original Stallion design that pro player Kyle Harrison used and designed for that two-way midfielder. The 1K has an improved stiffness, shape retention, and an updated scoop. PLL rookie, Nick Nakeie Montgomery, who ranked 28th in Duke history in career points, also uses this head. I like this head because it can be used both on the offensive side of midfield and the defensive side. It weighs in at about 4.7 oz, making it lighter than the current ECD DNA 2.0, StringKing Mark 2V, and Mark 2T.

The Hyper Power is designed to bring the game of an elite shooter to the next level. It is incredibly accurate and has a new structure that provides a natural whip to the head, unlike many other heads. The bottom of the head rises to the top at a different angle than other heads, which keeps the ball in your pocket longer and takes away the variables of stringing materials. This head is used by players like Marcus Holman and Will Manny. Holman used this head to win the 2021 PLL Accuracy Contest in both 2021 and 2022 All-Star Games.

* This stood up to wicked abuse. Matched with HERO mesh, this setup was very reliable, with repeatable results every day. By far my go-to head for any situation.
* With a 4.4-ounce head you wouldn’t expect much in terms of strength, but this head passed all expectations. It stands its ground for checks and pokes. 
* I’ve had 3 of these heads. They are long-lasting, even for heavy-handed guys like me, It’s a great option for the midfield position.

* Although the Surgeon 900 aims for a mid pocket, I found the stock pocket to be shallower than expected.

The Sturgeon 900 is the lightest head STX has ever made. Designed for goal scorers at the attack position, this head is super light and has insane control. With STX’s Enduraform plastic, the head has increased durability. It has a new speed scoop to make ground balls easy and a new sidewall design to make stringing much easier. This head would be the go-to for players like Connor DeSimone.
