Stallion 1K

# STX Stallion 1K Head

The STX Stallion 1K Lacrosse Head is at the forefront of the brand's elite midfield lineup. Building on the success of the original Stallion, designed by NCAA champion Kyle Harrison, the 1K boasts several improvements for the modern game. EnduraForm™ material enhances durability and stiffness, while the Speed Scoop™ facilitates easier ground ball pickups from any angle. The head also features a deeper legal offset, which is said to improve ball feel and retention.

The Stallion 1K represents the latest chapter in a long lineage of successful midfield heads from STX. It maintains the core values of versatility and performance that established the Stallion's reputation while incorporating modern materials and design elements to cater to the demands of today's elite midfielders.

 **Perfect head for:** elite midfielders

### Key Features Include

* EnduraForm™ - a proprietary material for improved toughness
* Speed Scoop™ for easier groundballs, regardless of the angle of attack
* Deepest legal offset increases ball feel and retention

### Top Competitor Comparisons: the [String King Mark 2V](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/string-king/mark-2v/l760) and the [ECD Mirage 2.0](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/east-coast-dyes/mirage-2-0/l164123)

The STX Stallion 1K, known for its aggressive pocket and power-focused design, faces competition from the StringKing Mark 2V and ECD Mirage 2.0 in the offensive midfield space. The StringKing Mark 2V boasts a mid-pocket that offers a balance between shooting power and controlled passing, making it a versatile option for offensive plays. Additionally, its stiff construction allows for a strong hold on the ball during powerful shots. The ECD Mirage 2.0, on the other hand, leans towards a more traditional pocket design with a wider face shape and deeper pocket. This prioritizes optimal hold and control over the ball, ideal for players who value precise passing and pocket feel. Compared to these, the STX Stallion 1K stands out with its aggressive mid-high pocket designed for maximizing power in shots. Its wider face shape also facilitates strong cradling, but it might offer less control on finesse plays compared to the Mark 2V or Mirage 2.0.

### Progression:

The STX Stallion Lacrosse Head has seen several iterations over the years, each aiming to improve upon the previous model in terms of performance and features.

* Original STX Stallion: This model was the first model of the STX Stallion. The head was designed in collaboration with lacrosse legend Kyle Harrison, this head offered a traditional pocket depth and a wide face shape.

* [STX Stallion 500](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/stx/stallion-u-500/color-multi/l364715): The 500 model introduced a deeper pocket to improve ball control and cradle security. It also features a slightly narrower face shape for better handling and passing.

* [STX Stallion 700](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/stx/stallion-700/l723): The Stallion 700 built upon its predecessor by incorporating EnduraForm material for enhanced toughness and consistency. It also features an improved scooping pocket for easier ground ball pickups.

* STX Stallion 750: This model introduced C-Channel technology for increased strength and stability. It also offered a wider variety of stringing options for greater pocket customization.

* STX Stallion 800: The Stallion 800 saw the introduction of SpeedScoop technology, designed to make ground ball pickups even easier from various angles. It also featured a deeper legal offset for improved ball feel and retention.

* [STX Stallion 900](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/sticks/heads/stx/stallion-900/l165638): The 900 model continued the trend of improved pocket customization with optimized stringing hole placement. It also maintained the EnduraForm material for durability and the SpeedScoop technology for efficient ground ball scooping.

* [STX Stallion 1K](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/stx/stallion-1k/l316969): The latest iteration, the Stallion 1K, boasts a redesigned SpeedScoop for even better ground ball acquisition. It also features the Innerlock technology for easier stringing on the inside rail, allowing for more personalized pocket configurations.

### What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

* This head was meant to be my backup, but now I use it as my starter. I highly recommend it for offensive players, especially attackmen. It's perfect!
* Good control up close or running from X, but compared to Kinetik 3, the ball sails high/wide from >20ft out. Tough for sweeping alley attacks.
* Throws great and I have great control with the ball.

CONS

* It does feel a bit stiffer in the top section...definitely stiffer than the 900
* Compared to other competitor heads, the Stallion 1K offers fewer sidewall stringing holes.
* I understand this is a high-end midfield head, but it’s a bit pricey compared to what else is out there.

### Expert Review (by [Allen Melick](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/EmpireSports))

The Stallion 1K is the top midfielder head for sure. It's based on the original Stallion design that pro player Kyle Harrison used and designed for that two-way midfielder. The 1K has an improved stiffness, shape retention, and an updated scoop. PLL rookie, Nick Nakeie Montgomery, who ranked 28th in Duke history in career points, also uses this head. I like this head because it can be used both on the offensive side of midfield and the defensive side. It weighs in at about 4.7 oz, making it lighter than the current ECD DNA 2.0, StringKing Mark 2V, and Mark 2T.

The QX-O integrates into Warrior's history of offensive innovation. Following the success of the iconic Warrior Krypto Pro shaft, the QX-O prioritizes control and power, aligning with Warrior's dedication to crafting high-performance tools for offensive dominance. The QX-O balances weight (it’s the lightest offensive lacrosse head from Warrior) and stiffness, appealing to players seeking a versatile head for all aspects of the offensive game.

**Perfect head for:** attackmen

### Key Features Include

* Therma-Loc resin boosts performance in high-heat
* Improved scoop for effortless ground ball pickups.
* Redesigned bottom rail and mid-low pocket profile to facilitate ball control
* Sym-Rail eliminates excess weight and provides improved stiffness.

### Top Competitor Comparisons: the [Maverik Optik 3.0](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/sticks/heads/maverik/optik-3-0/l165698) and the [STX Surgeon 900](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/sticks/heads/maverik/optik-3-0/l165698)

The Warrior Evo QX-O carves a niche in the offensive space, battling it out with the Maverik Optik 3.0 and STX Surgeon 900 for the title of top offensive weapon. All three prioritize a balance of power and control, but cater to slightly different playing styles. The Evo QX-O boasts a mid-pocket depth and a pinched face shape, offering a sweet spot for powerful shots and maintaining a good feel for dodges and passing. The Maverik Optik 3.0 features a slightly deeper pocket and a wider face, leaning towards maximizing power in shots and holds for aggressive offensive plays. Conversely, the STX Surgeon 900 takes a more traditional approach with a medium-depth pocket and a balanced face shape, excelling in versatility for strong throws, accurate passing, and decent ground ball pick-up.

### Progression:

The Warrior Evo lacrosse head is a popular choice for players of all levels, and it has seen several iterations over the years. Here's the progression:

Evo (1999-2000): The original Evo was designed to be lightweight and featured a refined offset patent for improved release points.

[Evo 2](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evolution-2-0/strung/l320960): Built upon the original's success, the Evo 2 was about trying to increase ball control in the pocket and accuracy out of the pocket. It has a redesigned throat and the amount of offset in the head increased.

[Evo 3](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evolution-3x/l9138): Saw significant changes including custom color heads, increased sidewall string holes from ten to 13, and a shortened throat.

[Evo 4](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-4/l7007): Introduced the SYM-RAILTM technology, which aimed to reduce weight strategically while maintaining overall stiffness.

[Evo 5](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-5/l7064): Further refinements, including the Tilt Tech string hole setup for a lower pocket and improved control. It also boasts a Throat Lock for a secure fit on the shaft and a stiffer design overall.

[Evo QX-O](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-qx-o/l164309): Designed for offensive players, it’s approximately 20 grams lighter than the Evo 5. Has an Improved scoop for better ground ball control and a new Therma-Loc resin for increased stiffness and face shape retention in hot weather.

### What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

* I quickly grew to love the QX-O. It’s durable and capable of taking the biggest of stick checks.
* This is my favorite of the Warrior’s—very lightweight, durable, and great face shape.
* The optional throat plug is the best feature.

CONS

* It felt a little stiff and less forgiving than other Warrior heads I've used.
* The QX-O offers fewer sidewall stringing holes compared to other heads.
* I prefer a more responsive head. This one is stiff.

### Expert Review (by [Allen Melick](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/EmpireSports))

The Warriors started making up some crazy names for their heads. This model is made for an offensive player who’s looking for more ball control with a quick release on passing and shooting. The big selling point is that it's 20 grams lighter than the previous model and has an upgraded rail system. The material makes it a stiffer head, and it helps the head retain its shape in high-heat environments. It has an updated scoop to make ground balls that much easier.

### Progression:

The Nike L3 is a rebranding of the Lakota 2 with a material upgrade. ### What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

- I switched to the L3 from the old model, and it's a perfect upgrade. The plastic is lighter and stiffer, and the face shape is great. Although there are plenty of stringing holes, I wish the sidewall holes were slightly larger.

- Can be strung in various ways to fit any pocket location (high to low). Suitable for traditional style. Feels stiff. If you liked Lakota 2, you'll love L3.

- One of the best middie heads I have used. The offset and the face shape makes it perfect for a fast shooter.

CONS

- I prefer a wide range of user reviews before making a purchase and I can’t hardly find anything useful about the L3.

- Gotta spend the time to break this head in to achieve optimal performance.

- Not my favorite head to string up.

### What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

* I’ve strung both rebel offense and rebel defense heads. It’s by far my favorite head to string and play with.
* It’s great for mid and low pockets, and very consistent passing and shooting.
* The pocket was a little shallow at first, but once I broke it in it worked great.

CONS

* I think the Rebel Offense is a bit too stiff, I prefer a bit more flex for shooting.
* The stiffness of this head impacts the feel and pocket performance.
* A bit expensive compared to other options.

### Expert Review (by [Allen Melick](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/EmpireSports))

This head comes in an offense and defense model. The offense is easy to use. ECD always produces a perfect head. It's made with light and durable material. You can get a lot of use out of the Rebel without really trashing it. And the defensive head is made to be stiff. It won't bend in any way, which defensemen like, especially when playing at the higher level. The more checks you throw, the more warped a head can get. The sidewalls are solid on the Rebel. A player can throw some pretty strong checks.

Hammer

### Product Description

The STX Hammer is widely regarded as one of the best defensive heads available. The head features new technologies like the speed scoop, C-Channel, and the strike plate on the sidewall. The speed scoop combined with the wide top of the head helps create a greater variety of approach angles for ground balls; that, plus it facilitates a smoother release to increase speed and accuracy. The C-Channel technology helps add strength and stability while creating a tighter channel for the ball to be funneled into while also improving stiffness for heavy checks. In addition, the strike plate on either sidewall adds to the impact area when throwing checks while also increasing strength and stiffness. Overall, the head has a very wide design to help defensive players better pick off passes and scoop ground balls in traffic. The STX Hammer is a universally legal head great for LSM’s and close defenders to help improve their power and accuracy while giving hard hits and checks.

### Expert Notes

The Hammer is one of the top defensive heads you can buy. To start, the STX Hammer has a very wide scoop and face shape, which allows players to intercept passes and scoop up ground balls more easily. You don’t have to worry about the Hammer warping or cracking, thanks to its very sturdy sidewall strut design. The Endura Form version of this particular head adds 25 percent extra strength, so it will withstand the gritty nature that comes with playing defense. Overall, if you're looking for a solid head that's not going to let you down when you’re trying to make big plays, definitely consider the STX Hammer.

Evo 5

# Warrior Evo 5 Lacrosse Heads
The Warrior Evo 5 Lacrosse Head is a force to be reckoned with for offensive midfielders and attackmen seeking power, control, and pinpoint accuracy. Its selling points are undeniable: the Tilt-Tech stringing holes facilitate a low-mid pocket placement, while the Sym-Rail technology shaves weight without sacrificing stiffness.

The Evo 5 seamlessly integrates into Warrior's rich lacrosse history, marked by consistent advancements in equipment and technology. Established in Warren, Michigan, Warrior quickly made a name for itself with its innovative gloves and pads. However, the Evo series specifically targeted the offensive end of the field. The Evo 5 is a testament to Warrior's dedication to refining and perfecting offensive offerings.

### Perfect head for: offensive midfielders and attackmen

### Key Features Include

* Tilt-Tech string hole design
* TruOffset® Technology deepens the pocket for enhanced ball control and shot power
* Bottom Rail Designed for mid to low-pocket placement
* Sym-Rail gets rid of excess weight while providing greater stiffness in the design

### Top Competitor Comparisons: the [ECD Rebel Offense](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/sticks/heads/east-coast-dyes/rebel/l8819) and the [STX Hyper Power](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/stx/hyper-power/l168596)

When compared to its competitors, the Warrior Evo 5 sits in a sweet spot for offensive players seeking a balance between hold and power. It boasts a stiffer pocket than the ECD Rebel Offense, making it ideal for low-pocket setups and powerful shots, while still offering enough flexibility for a good feel on the ball. The STX Hyper Power leans even further towards stiffness and power, but at the expense of some of the Evo 5's versatility in terms of pocket formation and overall feel. Ultimately, the choice between these three comes down to individual preference and playing style, with the Evo 5 offering a compelling blend of power, hold, and feel for offensive players.

### Progression:

The Warrior Evo lacrosse head is a popular choice for players of all levels, and it has seen several iterations over the years. Here's the progression:

* **[Evo](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-74/l10506) (1999-2000):** The original Evo was designed to be lightweight and featured a refined offset patent for improved release points.

* **[Evo 2](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-2-0/l8958):** The Evo 2 built upon the original's success was about trying to increase ball control in the pocket and accuracy out of the pocket. It has a redesigned throat and the amount of offset in the head increased.

* **[Evo 3](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evolution-3x/l9138):** The Evo 3 saw significant changes, including custom color heads, an increased number of sidewall string holes from ten to 13, and a shortened throat.
* **[Evo 4](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/heads/warrior/evo-4/l7007):** The Evo 4 introduced the SYM-RAILTM technology, which aimed to strategically reduce weight but still maintain overall stiffness.

* **[Evo 5](https://sidelineswap.com/shop/lacrosse/sticks/heads/warrior/evo-5/l7064):** The current iteration, the Evo 5, features further refinements, including the Tilt Tech string hole setup for a lower pocket and improved control. It also boasts a Throat Lock for a secure fit on the shaft and a stiffer design overall.

### What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

* The Evo 5 is probably my favorite head ever. It has a little flex but is great for middies and attacks.
* It works best with a mid-high pocket.
* The lock mechanism is great, with zero wobble.

CONS

* Not many string holes, but if strung well it doesn't matter.
* The throat lock was tough. I needed sandpaper to make it work.
* The ball stop has fallen off all three Warrior EVO 5 heads I have.

### Expert Review (by [Allen Melick](https://sidelineswap.com/locker/EmpireSports))

The Warrior Evo 5 was the head of choice by players such as UVA attackman Xander Dickson. It's made to be light and accurate with a ton of ball control. It's got a lot of sidewall holes that would allow for multiple sidewall patterns, so you have a ton of different stringing options. Some players like to do a high pocket with a little bit more whip, and some like a mid to low pocket for less whip and more control. This head is for players who'd like to have the ball lower in the pocket, but it's also versatile in what you can do with it.

### Expert Notes

The Warrior Evo lacrosse head was made for offensive midfielders and attackmen. This elite level head is designed to have a lower pocket, giving players the power to have more control of the ball and allowing for more whip in the head of your stick. The neck of the head has two screw holes to anchor the Evo down to reduce the risk of breaking or rattling. The rail system of the head is stiffer and stronger, while reducing the weight to give you a faster shot. It also gives you the option to have a bunch of string holes to create your perfect pocket.
