* These skates offer a lot of bang for your buck! The one-piece boot is stiff and responsive, providing excellent power transfer for strong strides. They come with the top-of-the-line SpeedBlade XS runners which offer great edge control. For the price point, they feel like a true pro-level skate.
* The Jetspeed FT6 skates are surprisingly comfortable, even for a high-performance model. The liner is thermoformable, which allows for a customized fit around my ankle for better pressure point distribution and overall comfort.
* You get what you pay for. This high-end CCM is perfect for me. I spent about 2 hours trying to find the perfect fit for my feet; the FT6 was it for me. On the ice, this shines even more.

* They feel heavy on the feet. I have to get used to how heavy they are... I came from wearing the super light Mach supremes every day, so it’s a big difference.
* While the Game Ready Fit helps, there is a break-in period of a few weeks due to the stiffness of the boot. I’m still having some minor discomfort around the ankles.

The FT6 Pro is basically the FT4 Pro on steroids. It offers really, really good speed and a bit better comfort than the FT4 Pro. It also has more flexibility and memory foam to prevent lace bite, and it addresses range-of-motion issues. This skate offers speed, power, and a good range of motion. You can really dig in and get that power and still go with the angles.

The RBZ Superfast was named for its speed; it’s one of the lightest sticks made to date by the CCM. Borrowing speed pocket technology from golf manufacturer TaylorMade, the RBZ offers not only a wider speed channel than prior RBZ models, but adds power speed technology to help deliver better distribution throughout the stick’s composite construction. When they were first released, RBZ Superfast sticks were used by many players in the show. These can still be scooped up on SidelineSwap, for an unreal price at that. The best quality of these twigs is how zippy the blade is, especially on quick snapshots. The puck feels like it’s popping right off the blade, and no area of the blade feels like it’s giving way or that it’s too soft. There’s no reverberations or vibrations throughout the stick whether you’re receiving passes or taking one-timers.

The RibCor lineup continues to get better and this stick is a ton of fun in all areas of the game. The RibCor Trigger 2 PMT stick has a very identifiable kick point. It releases low in the shaft, and has great feel when ripping snap shots or passes. The shaft has a nice taper and change in shape as it moves towards the blade, which contributes to the soft, flexy release. If you’re a toe shooter, the combo of the lower flex point combined with a stiffer toe and strong blade will complement each other perfectly for your shooting style.

You can thank the 40K’s low-mid kick point for the quick release. In addition, the RibCor 40K offers excellent control and accuracy thanks to its stiff SXX2 blade. The 40K also features a high power taper ratio, meaning it’s stiffer up top and on the bottom of the stick in relation to the front and back of the shaft. This orientation helps keep the stick straight, resulting in less twisting on shots. If you’re in the market for a twig that will offer you a very direct power transfer, be sure to consider the RibCor 40K.

### Expert Notes

The shaft has a slightly rounded shape and feels comfortable in your hands, especially when you’re handling the puck. In addition, it has a nice texture which serves as a bit of a grip without being sticky or tacky. The blade is similar to many other sticks in the RibCor line, in that it is quite soft and has nice puck feel. RibCor 40K sticks are priced very well balanced, and do not feel bottom-heavy at all.

Using a new speared one-piece construction process, the CCM Ribcor Pro3 PMT is designed for elite performance. The rounded corners of the shaft allow for a more comfortable grip, and the X-Flow Technology allows for maximum energy transfer and a quick release. The new Pop Matrix Technology gives the stick a lower kick-point and more efficient shot release which makes all the difference when trying to get hard, accurate shots off quickly. Also made for stickhandlers, the Ascent 2 Blade Core has a soft heel for puck feel and a stiffer toe to maintain accuracy while shooting and passing, and the C6 carbon fiber wrap increases durability while maintaining the balance of the stick.


### Expert Notes

The RibCor Pro 3 PMT stick has a super tidy, professional look and is aesthetically a fan favorite from the RibCor line. CCM has dialed back the complexity for this twig and has instead gone with a simple black lower shaft and blade. Any hockey player will tell you that this is the best contrast to look down at. The slightly rounded shaft is comfortable, but still maintains a more boxy look and feel. What players seem to love most about the stick is the blade’s texture, which is pretty tacky. The blade is also fortified in the toe, so it does not buckle or give when shooting off the toe. So if you take a lot of snap shots, this could be a great fit!
