How Should A Goalie Mask Fit?

Your goalie mask should fit snugly and should not move around excessively when it’s placed over your head. Youth goalie masks are most suitable for children ages 5-7, and junior masks are for goalies between the ages of 8 and 12. For teen and adult hockey goalies, senior goalie masks are most appropriate.

Sizing A Goalie Mask

To size a goalie mask, use a tape measure to find the circumference of your head around what's known as your “hat line,” which is right in the center of your forehead. Major equipment manufacturers put out sizing charts for goalie masks, so be sure to match your head’s circumference measurement with the corresponding size that each manufacturer suggests.
