716 AP1

### Product Description

Titleist 716 AP1 Irons are game-improvement irons with a high launch trajectory, increased distance, maximum forgiveness, and playability. Tungsten weighting helps lower the center of gravity (CG) which produces a higher launch and increased moment of inertia (MOI) for added forgiveness. The 360 degree Undercut Cavity design is a thin, unsupported face that allows the face to flex more at impact resulting in increased ball speeds and added distance. Titleist 716 AP1 irons feature a pre-worn leading-edge design that creates better turf interaction. The Titleist 716 AP1 irons come standard with the MRC Kura Kage Graphite or True Temper 95 Steel stock shafts.

### Expert Notes

These best-selling, most forgiving irons were designed to give players greater distance on their shots. Titleist AP1 irons are best suited for mid to high handicappers. There’s very solid forgiveness in these irons. They have a substantial offset, thick sole, and thick top line. The use of stainless steel inserts create faster ball speeds from all impact locations. The shorter and mid irons feature a cavity construction, and the longer irons have a hollow body construction. You will like the thin clubface with tungsten positioned in the toe in the longer clubs for higher launch flights. Ball speeds will be pretty high with these irons. They have excellent feel and workability. You will find the sound to be a bit “clicky.” Overall, the heads on AP1 irons are slightly larger than AP2 heads, and the top edge is slightly broader.

718 AP2

### Product Description

Titleist 718 AP2 Irons deliver the look, sound and feel that players expect from a Titleist iron and are an excellent option for both strong amateurs and Tour level golfers. The 718 AP2 irons are ideal for players seeking ultimate playability with consistent distance and forgiveness. With Tour-proven performance for consistency and player preferred looks, sound, and feel these irons have been validated by the best players in the world. Perimeter Tungsten Weighting and a forged construction provide maximum forgiveness and stability while a refined leading edge creates efficient turf interaction and a pure feel through impact.

### Expert Notes

Another mention from Golf Digest’s Gold List, the 718 Titleist irons are the newest and latest version of the AP2’s and are dubbed “player’s irons.” They are very sharp-looking and modern. You will find the MOI is higher, and they feature a pre-worn leading edge throughout the entire set which helps with turf interaction. The irons still have a small, compact head. These irons are used by many tour players and single digit handicappers, because they’re not as forgiving as the AP1, which has a bigger head.

AP1 714

### Product Description

Titleist AP1 714 irons are the fourth generation of the AP1 range launched in 2008 and deliver optimal high launch trajectory and increased stability to the aspiring golfer. When Titleist created the AP1 714 series, the goal was to increase ball flight, forgiveness, and the overall feel of the iron. These irons are some of the longest and most forgiving irons Titleist has ever made. They feature a multi-material, dual cavity design and a cast stainless steel body construction. This club series also features an Advanced CG design. This creates long irons that launch higher, and short irons that launch flatter for more carry distance and added control. Precisely placed high-density tungsten weights in the long and mid irons produces a higher MOI for consistent distance.

### Expert Notes

AP1 714 irons are ideal for mid-handicappers and weekend golfers. These irons allow for some creativity, and you’ll fin that you’re able to maneuver your shots pretty easily. These are some of the longest irons on the market and you can hit solid shots from both good and bad lies. They produce a crisp impact when hit, and are extremely balanced and stable through the turf. They sit very nicely when you’re lining up, and will give you a lot of confidence over the ball. If you don’t like the bulky look, you may want to rethink having these in your bag.

### Product Description

Titleist AP2 716 irons are a Tour-proven design that offer a combination of look, feel, and playability. The most advanced, solid feeling and forgiving tour irons Titleist has ever made, these irons are for golfers seeking Tour-proven design with impressive distance and a soft feel. Tungsten weighing positions the center of gravity lower to help increase MOI, thereby producing more speed and stability upon impact. AP2 716 irons are great at correcting mis-hits. The Optimized CG Progression provides a consistent trajectory, with improved alignment for impact and consistent speed. Titleist AP2 716 irons come standard with a True Temper Dynamic Gold stock shaft, and a Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 grip.

### Expert Notes

The AP2 Titleist irons are designed for golfers seeking an exceptional feel that will boost their distance on shots while offering a ton of forgiveness. You’ll notice a consistent trajectory with each club. This is a player’s iron: it has thin toplines, compact blades and a slight offset that will look really sharp in your bag. Any golfer can appreciate the stylish black and silver look that Titleist is known for. The high density tungsten is aligned at impact to provide more speed. There is a low CG design to get the most out of your shots. You’ll experience less dig from the slightly wider sole and a solid forged feel.

AP2 714 Forged

### Product Description

Titleist AP2 714 Forged Irons offer incredible forgiveness in a Tour-preferred compact player’s iron. These irons feature an advanced dual cavity design with a Tour-proven profile of progressive weighting, variable face thickness, and sole widths. The innovative tungsten weighting helps to optimize center of gravity (CG) so the long irons have a lower CG for an easier launch and the short irons have a higher CG for a more workable trajectory that most players prefer. Each iron is specifically designed to match the loft characteristics, so the long irons have thinner faces than the short irons, allowing more flexion at impact. The AP2 714 Irons feature a pre-worn leading edge and extra camber in the sole to improve turf interaction. Constructed from 1025 forged carbon steel, the AP2 offers a soft feel and pure sound.

### Expert Notes

The Titleist AP2 714 irons are multi-material forged irons, each of which is designed with various sized cavities depending on the loft. At impact, you will get a lot of positive feedback. Center hits will be smooth, with no vibration. Every club in this set is super forgiving. The 714’s are one of the highest MOI irons on the market and even low single-figure players can game these. You will see a higher launch in the longer irons and workability for the shorter irons. These clubs look right, feel right and get the job done.
