These irons are extremely forgiving, and deliver better results on off-center hits. The Custom Tuning Port that’s integrated into the bottom of the sole helps to lower CG and increase moment of inertia (MOI). The longer irons have slightly larger sole widths to launch shots with a higher trajectory, while the short iron soles are designed for versatility and control. The heel and toe support bars and low-toe weighting system help stabilize the face upon impact. With a new vibration dampening medallion on the back of the face, the overall feedback and feel of these irons is excellent.

Ping’s G25 irons are extremely forgiving, and this is now Ping’s sixth installment in the stainless steel game-improvement iron series. Much like the G20, these irons are now created with a different topline, sole width and offset than the G20. This maximizes playability. The G25’s sole width becomes narrower as the irons move from 3 iron to PW. You will also notice the custom tuning port lower behind the face. The port is near the sole to help improve your feel of the club. These clubs have a great look and are just all around fun to play with -- we’d recommend them for any player.

The 17-4 stainless steel head is perimeter-weighted and features an extremely thin face for maximum game improvement. All of the weight saved from thinning out the face was re-distributed to the perimeter of the clubhead for increased moment of inertia (MOI) and a high launch trajectory. The Ping G20 irons are the replacement for the G15 irons. They feature a wider sole which adds forgiveness. The clubhead sits well behind the ball at address. Thanks to the extra weight in the sole, the ball flight will be slightly higher than the G15’s. It is one of the best irons for the mid handicapper looking for a quality iron. These game-improvement irons have their own shaft engineered by Ping. The thinner face combined with the CTP port creates faster ball speed, better feel and increased accuracy on shots.

With stronger lofts, you will generate an average of 3-7 more yards here with the Ping G30 irons. Superior turf interaction combined with undercut cavities gives these irons easy distance and feel. The short irons launch a bit lower, but spin more so consistency should be your focus here. The face is also slightly thicker, so the feel will be much softer. The mid and long irons are created with maximum distance and forgiveness in mind. All in all, these are very good looking clubs and are fun to play with. They are definitely an upgrade from the G25 irons in terms of sound and feel.

Look for a smaller head size and new offset, which gives these irons a new look and feel. Shorter irons can be flighted lower and longer irons will stay in the air a little longer for softer landing shots onto the green.

The i25 irons are the newer model of the i20’s, with a few advancements. These irons are best suited for more advanced players, but a 10 handicap may get away with using them too. You will find the i25’s feature a bigger cavity, and the soles are wider to help with forgiveness and to get the ball up in the air. You may even hear a hollow sound when you hit them due to the large cavity, but don’t let that throw you off your game. The CTP is lower and less noticeable than it was in the i20’s. These clubs look cleaner and are extremely easy to hit. You will feel very comfortable playing with these.

Ping S55 Irons offer more workability and forgiveness in a cavity-blade iron set that’s designed for advanced and Tour-level golfers. Improving upon its already successful predecessor, the Ping S56, the S55 iron set optimizes performance for better forgiveness and control. The S55 features a Single Stabilizing Bar for a simpler look and more effective performance demanded by better players. The Thinner Face with Perimeter Weighting makes the club more forgiving with a lower center of gravity (CG). The cavity has a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) Badge insert that provides a better sound and a softer, more forged-like feel. The Ping S55 iron is compact at address, but the precision weight placements also make this iron more forgiving at the same time. The longer irons provide a higher launch angle for consistent performance, while the shorter irons provide more penetration and workability.


### Expert Notes

These irons are more forgiving than the S56, with a slightly softer feel. They also fly farther than the previous model. They look very similar to the S56 model and are a favorite on the pro tour circuit. The biggest change you will find is the CTP is made of a different material and is slightly larger. As a result, the irons have a slightly higher MOI. The irons themselves are fractionally smaller than the S56’s and are very workable for players of all abilities. Even the short irons have been fortified and modernized.
