These are premium player irons, best suited for more advanced golfers. The Apex Pro Irons use a 360 Face Cup. Essentially, this makes the irons faster. This also helps with off-center hits. Inside each head is around 50g of tungsten. In the longer irons, the CG is positioned lower towards the toe to help with ball speed on off-center hits. In the shorter irons, it is slightly higher to increase ball flight. Compared to the Apex CF 19 irons, the Pro’s have less offset and a thinner top line. Overall, these are quality irons for lower handicappers.

Callaway XR irons have a “cup 360” around the head, which is a thin metal that produces flex upon impact. The more flex a club has, the more ball speed you’ll get. Callaway also used the internal standing wave design from their fairway woods in these irons, which effectively lowers the CG. You will experience a medium amount of offset upon address, and the top line looks very similar to the X2 Hot irons. Lastly, it should be noted that these are cavity back irons; if that’s your preference, the Callaway XR’s are a great option.
