TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood combines advanced technologies for longer, playable shots. Its 3D Carbon Crown reduces weight for a lower center of gravity, promoting higher launch angles and improved forgiveness on off-center hits. The V Steel Sole technology features a curved leading edge that helps the clubhead glide smoothly through various lies, including thick, rough, and wet fairways.

Perfect fairway wood for:
Golfers who struggle with a slice or who are looking for more forgiveness on off-center hits.

Key features include:

3D Carbon CrownThis weight-saving carbon fiber allows for more mass to be strategically placed in the club head for a lower center of gravity.
Lower Center of GravityHelps generate higher launch angles, which in turn produce more distance and increased forgiveness on off-center hits.
Inverted Cone TechnologyCreates a larger sweet spot and increases ball speeds across the hitting surface.
V Steel Sole DesignPromotes better turf interaction for smoother club head passage through the ground, especially on mishits.
Multiple Loft OptionsAllows for customization to ensure optimal launch characteristics and distance gapping within your set.

The Callaway Paradym fairway is forgiving across the face while producing consistently fast ball speeds. Its high launch and mid spin characteristics make it a great option from both the tee andfairway. It also features an adjustable hosel, which the TaylorMade Stealth 2 lacks. Among these three options, the Titleist TSR3 boasts the most adjustability, appealing to golfers who desire maximum control over their fairway wood performance. It features an adjustable hosel, a SureFit Adjustable CG Track System with multiple weight positions, and an adjustable face angle setting. This allows for the most comprehensive fine-tuning of launch, spin, and ball flight for maximum personalization.

Progression of the Stealth 2 Fairway Wood

The TaylorMade Stealth Fairway Wood preceded the current Stealth 2 Fairway Wood. Here's a breakdown of the progression and key upgrades:

2022 - Stealth Fairway Wood

Introduced a Carbonwood construction, featuring a carbon fiber face for the first time in a TaylorMade fairway wood. This resulted in increased ball speed and distance potential. It also offered a titanium body design.

2023 - Stealth 2 Fairway Wood

Maintains the distance benefits of the carbon fiber face but goes further in the forgiveness department. Here's how they achieved this:

  • 3D Carbon Crown: Utilizes carbon fiber to save weight, allowing for more mass to be strategically placed in the club head for a lower center of gravity.
  • Lower CG: The weight redistribution from the 3D Carbon Crown promotes a lower CG, leading to higher launch angles for more distance and increased forgiveness on off-center hits.
  • Refined Variable Thickness Face: Offers a larger sweet spot with increased ball speeds across the hitting surface for longer distances, even on mishits.
👍 Pros
Great club. Can align to target line with confidence. Feels good through impact.
The club feels good in my hands. It's well-balanced and lightweight. The shaft is perfect for me. It's a beautiful golf club.
Flies high and hits straight off the tee. Forgiving but still able to shape shots.
👎 Cons
Hands down, the Ping and Callaway were much easier to hit. Their profiles are much shallower than the Stealth.
It's not as long as the original stealth fairway wood. This version has too much spin.
It's a decent club. I'm not really a fan of the Hozzle. It functions well and just looks a bit funky.
The Stealth 2 is a forgiving club. It's made for the average golfer or beginner who has money to spend on a quality club. The focus on forgiveness and playability makes the Stealth 2 a good option for golfers with a developing swing who may not always hit the center of the fairway wood. So yeah, it's super easy to hit off the deck, penetrating flight, and has a great launch.
