TaylorMade M6 Golf Fairway Woods

TaylorMade M6 fairway woods are known for their distance and accuracy thanks to a combination of Twist Face technology and a larger, more forgiving clubface. Twist Face corrects off-center hits, reducing side spin and promoting straighter shots, while the larger sweet spot increases forgiveness on mishits. This club is a good option for golfers who want more distance and straighter shots from the fairway, with a focus on forgiveness on mishits.

Perfect fairway wood for:
Golfers who priorize distance, straight flight, and playability.

Key features include:

Advanced Speed Pocket DesignThis slot technology behind the clubface flexes at impact, which can help to increase ball speed and forgiveness on off-center hits.
Twist Face TechnologyThis face curvature offers a corrective face angle for off-center hits, helping to reduce side spin and deliver straighter shots.
Lightweight Carbon CrownAllows weight to be redistributed lower in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity for higher launch and better forgiveness on off-center strikes.

Top Competitors

The Cobra Aerojet fairway wood is designed for versatile shot making and plenty of forgiveness to make your long game more consistent. It features a PWR-BRIDGE suspended weight design that allows for more face flex and a larger sweet spot, resulting in faster ball speeds and more forgiveness on off-center hits. The PING G430 Max fairway wood is another great option for golfers looking for a forgiving fairway wood. It features Ping's Carbonfly Wrap technology, which positions the center of gravity lower in the clubhead for higher launch and more distance. The G430 Max also has a large sweet spot and a thin face design to help you generate more ball speed.

Progression of the M6 fairway woods:

The M6 comes from a long line of fairway woods in the TaylorMade lineup. Here are the upgrades over it’s predecessor the M4:

  • The steel-constructed M6 fairway wood is equipped with a re-engineered Speed Pocket to boost ball speed on shots struck low on the face.
  • A TPU slot insert sits flush with the sole of the M6 for better turf interaction/less Speed Pocket drag.
  • The addition of a “Rocket 3.” The 14-degree offering for those who seek reduced spin and higher ballspeed. The center of gravity sits directly behind the club face in the M6, which improves energy transfer from the M4.
  • The M6 features a slightly taller face and larger impact area. The M6’s carbon composite crown increases discretionary mass, which is concentrated low in the head for a lower CG/higher launch.
👍 Pros
This club has a great feel in your hands. I’m hitting the ball further than with my driver.
Love the weight and feel of this club!
Great club. Awesome sounds and weight to it. Really improved my game.
👎 Cons
I loved this until the head cracked hitting a normal shot.
On my third shot with this club, I got underneath the ball. I was surprised to see a huge scuff mark on the top of the club. Very disappointing!
There is a dent right about the face which should not be there. It makes the sound of impact sound empty and tin canny.
The M6 has a high launch point right on impact. You're going to hit the ball higher with this club. It has a massive head, similar to the RBZ. And if you have a high swing speed, the M6 will help you hit farther. At the time, it was the most forgiving of the M models. The forgiving design and distance-oriented features make the M6 a good option for beginner golfers still developing their swing. If you prefer a fairway wood that offers more workability and control over shot shape, I would look at something like the SIM Max.
