Rawlings Pro Preferred models have been my standard for top-notch baseball gloves ever since I knew what baseball was. And the newest 2023 Pro Preferred releases utilize the same world-class kip leather and sheepskin palm lining that initially convinced me that Pro Preferred’s are the world’s most comfortable glove. Not to mention that Rawlings offers player-specific models for guys like Mike Trout, Ronald Acuña, Kris Bryant and Gerrit Cole—ever heard of them? **PROS**

-   The Rawlings Icon is a beast on the field. Hits are powerful and consistent.
    
-   The sweet spot on this thing is like a magnet for the ball. It's tough as nails and can take a beating, which is exactly what you need in the game.
    
-   It's light and easy to swing. The ICON gives me control on the barrel. It feels lighter than other -3 bats. There is ZERO sting on this carbon composite. The ICON has a HUGE sweet spot and pop
    

**CONS**

-   The stock grip is just kinda okay – not as sticky or comfy as I expected. It's no deal-breaker, though. Folks generally like to tweak their grips to suit their style.
    
-   I'm not a big fan of the tapered knob on the ICON because I like to feel the handle more at the bottom (purely preference), but the handle feels fantastic.
    
-   The barrel cracked at the base of the handle. Travel ball practice starts this week and his brand new Icon is useless.

The ICON is the new hot bat from Rawlings. It's the top bat in the market right now. In terms of sales, very popular. You've got a lot of guys online doing reviews on it. I think the hype comes from the merger between Easton and Rawlings. They've got a lot of technology and have come up with a really strong-performing bat this season.

always a favorite within youth baseball. What’s best of all is that Highlight series gloves

blue—well, not just kids, because I’m 25 years old and love those colors too. Equipping
your child with a Rawlings Highlight glove is the first step to them making highlight-
worthy catches on the field.

Rawlings Renegade gloves are perfect for kids who are still versatile enough to play
every position on the field. The most recent Renegade models evolved from older
versions by including a Velcro wrist strap that makes for an easy fit, a pro mesh back
design that I’ve heard youth players are enamored with, and a black, red, and gray
colorway that I’m sure will accent any team’s jersey colors. Yet, newer Renegade
models mirror the older by using the same full-grain leather, deep pocket, and palm pad
for added protection. The Rawlings Renegade glove series covers all the bases and
should continue to be a first choice for you parents out there who value their kids’
safety—and for kids who want a sweet piece of leather.

The longest lasting metal bat series on the market is still at its peak. Rawlings legendary Velo series returned in 2022, with a Velo ACP release that I’ve heard hitters say offers unparalleled balance at the plate. Over time, the Rawlings Velo series has evolved by incorporating the ACP (Accelerated Carbon Performance) line that adds extra carbon in the barrel, which we’ve heard does a lot to increase pop. While Velo’s aren’t the best looking bats you’re going to find, they make up for the plainness with top-notch performance. Rawlings’ resilient Velo series should continue to be a favorite for hard-nosed hitters who prefer production over flash.
