Rawlings Pro Preferred models have been my standard for top-notch baseball gloves ever since I knew what baseball was. And the newest 2023 Pro Preferred releases utilize the same world-class kip leather and sheepskin palm lining that initially convinced me that Pro Preferred’s are the world’s most comfortable glove. Not to mention that Rawlings offers player-specific models for guys like Mike Trout, Ronald Acuña, Kris Bryant and Gerrit Cole—ever heard of them? An iconic brand’s most iconic glove. Rawlings Heart of the Hide gloves are famous for the top-grade, USA steerhide leather they’re crafted from, which makes for a firm and sturdy glove that so many players love. Over time, Heart of the Hide gloves have been remodeled to make them easier to break in and cater more towards players’ specific tastes. The newest Heart of the Hide release is Rawlings’ ‘Gameday 57’ series, which celebrates the MLB’s annual “Gold Glove Award” (introduced in 1957), by individually numbering each model—making every glove a one-of-one collector’s item and on-field gem. Rawlings excels when it comes to producing gloves for every age, skill level, and price
point—proven by their Premium glove series. The most recent Premium model was
released in 2021, and features the same durable leather that's easy to close (and that youth players 
love), Yet, the newest release did switch up
the glove’s palm and web color, moving away from black and in favor of dark brown
– which I feel compliments this glove’s old fashioned feel. What hasn’t changed about
the Premium series is that the gloves endure for seasons on end, and often remain
good enough for a youth player to use until it’s time to get an adult glove. Over anything
else, kids want a glove they can trust. And Rawlings Premium gloves are as trustworthy
as they come.

Renegade

Rawlings Renegade gloves are perfect for kids who are still versatile enough to play
every position on the field. The most recent Renegade models evolved from older
versions by including a Velcro wrist strap that makes for an easy fit, a pro mesh back
design that I’ve heard youth players are enamored with, and a black, red, and gray
colorway that I’m sure will accent any team’s jersey colors. Yet, newer Renegade
models mirror the older by using the same full-grain leather, deep pocket, and palm pad
for added protection. The Rawlings Renegade glove series covers all the bases and
should continue to be a first choice for you parents out there who value their kids’

Similar to other popular gloves series from Rawlings, the Signature Series features replica game-day glove models from your favorite MLB players, including the Captain himself: Derek Jeter. For younger players especially, Signature Series gloves are redesigned to have a closer fit, offering better all-around control. Signature Series gloves feature a conventional open back and leather lacing. ### Expert Notes

The Signature Series by Rawlings was designed to mimic gloves that former MLB superstars used during their heyday. These gloves are pretty basic, but they get the job done. The leather construction and durability level of Signature Series is not great, but the design of each glove mimics that of a $400 glove. So, if you want to look swaggy without paying top dollar, then these gloves are a great choice.
