The Warstic Bonesaber is a single-piece aluminum bat known for its unique flared knob. It resembles some of the wood bats that the pro ball players use. Which is why I think some players go for it. But performance-wise, it's not my favorite bat. It's stiff and a little on the heavy side.

The Easton ADV 360 is a two-piece composite bat. It has a light swing and big barrel. Perfect for the younger hitter. I think it is popular because of the paint job, which is bright neon yellow. They took the same design from the CAT8 and strengthened the CAT9 with a stronger alloy to avoid any denting issues. It's a very good, durable bat. The CAT9 will be a bit heavier than the CAT8; it's a better bat for stronger kids. The first generation of the CAT9 came out with a gray, black, and red paint job. The second generation they called the Past Time, which was red, white, and blue. It's the same bat, but a different paint job. The second bat was more popular simply because of how it looked. Everyone likes the American Flag with its Stars and Stripes.

The CF Zen has been discontinued. The early models from 2017 - 2021 were called CF Zens. After that, DeMarini changed the name to CF. The first models of the CF Zen were very high-performance. But they also tended to break, so DeMarini made them stronger, made them stiffer, made them more durable. And when they did that, the bats didn't hit as well. The early models were better performers than the later models.

The Rawlings 5150 series is the ultimate workman’s bat. The most recent 2023 Rawlings 5150 furthered the end loaded, heavier feel and extra stiffness that we loved its predecessors for, while adding a brand new bat grip that hitters I’ve spoken to say provides unmatched comfort at the plate. Although some of these hitters also miss the neon green 5150 releases from 2016 and 2017, the model’s evolution can be clearly traced through this bat’s commitment to one piece, alloy bats that care about performance over cosmetics. The Rawlings 5150 is a blue-collar, power hitter’s bat that I’d recommend for anyone who’s looking to pad their home run stats.

The longest lasting metal bat series on the market is still at its peak. Rawlings legendary Velo series returned in 2022, with a Velo ACP release that I’ve heard hitters say offers unparalleled balance at the plate. Over time, the Rawlings Velo series has evolved by incorporating the ACP (Accelerated Carbon Performance) line that adds extra carbon in the barrel, which we’ve heard does a lot to increase pop. While Velo’s aren’t the best looking bats you’re going to find, they make up for the plainness with top-notch performance. Rawlings’ resilient Velo series should continue to be a favorite for hard-nosed hitters who prefer production over flash.

The Easton Mako Beast is proof that some bats surpass their expected expiration date.
Released in 2017, this Easton model offers a deadly combo of a light swing and a big
barrel to create a terrifying bat for we pitchers. The two-piece, composite Mako Beast
evolved from Easton’s legendary Mako bat series (my favorite metal bat of all time), but was updated to include a longer barrel than the original Mako. Aside from that, not
much else has changed between older Mako models and the 2018 Mako Beast (not
including this bat’s sweet black matte colorway with grey accents). Although Easton has
released a number of excellent metal bats over the years, many hitters

The 2018 Beast X is another stellar addition to the Easton metal bat family. It achieved a sort of cult status upon its release due to it being one of the lightest one piece alloy bats available—and many baseball players (me included) really love the highlighter yellow colorway it came with. In my opinion, it’s the best looking metal bat that Easton bat ever made. The Beast X evolved from Easton’s Z-Core line of bats, although it adds a lizard skin grip and lighter swing speed that the Z-Core models didn’t have. The 2018 Adidas Aero is a light swinging, big barreled two-piece bat that is easy on the hands and does a decent job of dampening sting. There is nothing remarkable about the connective piece of the bat. The most technically impressive feature of the 2018 Aero Burner is the end cap. This new piece allows for a slightly lighter design and longer barrel size. Aesthetically, this bat is a showstopper. The Aero Burner is a great option for players who prefer two-piece composite BBCOR bats, in the 33 or 34 inch size.

One of the earlier iterations in Marucci’s CAT series, the BBCOR-certified CAT6 got high praise when it first came out for its advancements in bat technology. Marucci took feedback from players and paid particular attention to reducing vibration in the top hand, as this is a common complaint -- particularly among amateur players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. Impressively, the vibration dampening rate on the CAT6 is 5.6 times higher than its competition. You can also be assured that the CAT6 will give you a swing as smooth as butter. The CAT6 is a one-piece bat constructed from some of the most responsive alloy available.

### Expert Notes

The Marucci CAT 6 has been one of the highest rated bats ever. It has a middle of the road swing weight and uses the same proprietary knob found in new CAT bats from Marucci.

As a general sentiment, we’d recommend this bat for any player that prefers the stiff feel of a single piece bat and is looking for a real value purchase. The CAT 6 is ideal for hitters who like a balanced bat and the honest feel and power that come from a one-piece bat, but who also want to avoid any associated sting. For 2019, the CAT 6 features a very glossy pearl white with a hurricane circular design. 

The BBCOR version of the CAT 6 features a handle that transitions into the knob. The larger widening handle increases your bottom hand’s contact with the bat. Those who like a skinny bottom hand handle can unwrap the tape and remove the plastic shaped cone on the bottom of the handle.
