**CONS**

-   My son loved this bat from day one. After three weeks of use the plastic piece where the shaft meets the barrel cracked. Definitely expect something better than this for $450. Haven't started the warranty process yet so we'll see how that goes.
    
-   The bat handle now telescopes into the barrel after the junction cracked. We had expected better quality for the price and it's hard to accept a replacement that arrives 2-3 weeks later at best.

The Goods is a top performer and the 2024 model is the most expensive hybrid bat on the market. It's an end loaded bat for that power hitter in your lineup. The alloy is strong, and it has a good whip to it. Overall, The Goods is in the top five in the hybrids for both BBCOR and youth. They took the same design from the CAT8 and strengthened the CAT9 with a stronger alloy to avoid any denting issues. It's a very good, durable bat. The CAT9 will be a bit heavier than the CAT8; it's a better bat for stronger kids. The first generation of the CAT9 came out with a gray, black, and red paint job. The second generation they called the Past Time, which was red, white, and blue. It's the same bat, but a different paint job. The second bat was more popular simply because of how it looked. Everyone likes the American Flag with its Stars and Stripes.

* I am pleased to say that my son has experienced an increased exit speed and longer distances. He has noticed that the bat has an expanded sweet spot, resulting in more comfortable hits with less sting.
* My son had a few mishits but the ball still came off decently, and he mentioned that there was no vibration. I would recommend this bat, especially for younger kids who are improving their skills but still want success.
* A go-to choice when under pressure. It has a large sweet spot, providing a ton of power. The bat is also easy to swing and consistently achieves a higher exit velocity off the tee compared to a Cat9 alloy and 23' meta.

**CONS**



* I purchased the -8 version, which has a small sweet spot. The knob is great, but the grip is not as effective. 
* If you are still 11, I suggest you get the drop ten because it has a bigger sweet spot and more pop due to its smaller aluminum content. Overall, it's a nice medium-swinging -8! 
* I was unaware that this bat was the Junior version and only recommended for Coach Pitch.

The CAT8 is an older model from 2019 and a good BBCOR and USSSA bat. Very good performing bat with a sound that players love. Lightweight and easy to swing. It's probably one of the best sellers, and since the CAT8 is still available, it's perhaps one of the better bang for the buck. Prices dropped for this older model. So, it is a good match for an entry-level player on a tight budget.

Rawlings legendary Velo series returned in 2022, with a Velo ACP release that I’ve heard hitters say offers unparalleled balance at the plate. Over time, the Rawlings Velo series has evolved by incorporating the ACP (Accelerated Carbon Performance) line that adds extra carbon in the barrel, which we’ve heard does a lot to increase pop. While Velo’s aren’t the best looking bats you’re going to find, they make up for the plainness with top-notch performance. Rawlings’ resilient Velo series should continue to be a favorite for hard-nosed hitters who prefer production over flash.
