The Louieville Slugger Atlas is a newer bat that's been out for two years now. It's the next bat in the same generation as the Louisville Slugger Solo. It is a one-piece design, very easy to swing. Flashy paint job. It’s one of the top couple of bats in the alloy market.

The Louiseville Select PWR bat is one of the hottest bass out there for hybrids. The BBCOR model is a heavier bat and is in the same category as The Goods by DeMarini. * This is an excellent one-piece bat with a balanced feel.
* My son is using his first BBCOR bat. Although he was previously using a -5 USSSA bat, he hasn't noticed any difference in the weight. He has already had success with it on the big ball field this fall. This one-piece alloy bat is great, especially in the Northeast where temperatures are cooler.
* I am very satisfied with this bat. My son has recently started playing on a 60/90 field. This bat has excellent balance and a large sweet spot. It has great pop right out of the wrapper, so there is no need to break it in. Additionally, it looks great too.

* Bat is too light, causing players to swing early. It doesn't have as much power as a BBCOR composite bat. 
* Not suitable for heavy hitters; ideal for children who require a lighter bat for swinging. Grip must be perfect, or it will sting hands.

* Decent pop and has good barrel control. It seems lighter due to the way it;s balanced. If you’re thinking of moving up in size, do it with this bat.
* I got my son the CAT X BBCOR 33" bat. He chose it over his Voodoo One for his high school varsity games. The CAT X seems well-built, and other players using it have had no issues. In contrast, two of his teammates' Voodoo One bats have already broken this season.

* The BBCOR Cat X is by far the worst Marucci we've ever bought. It has NO Pop and sounds like he's hitting rocks with the bat. The ball barely leaves the infield when he hits it.

* Unfortunately my son has been using this bat for only a few weeks and there is already something rattling in the handle.

CATX came out in 2023. The first gen is a white ribbon silver bat. For the second run, Marucci came out with a version called the CATX Vanta. It's a blacked-out, limited-edition. The second generation they called the Past Time, which was red, white, and blue. It's the same bat, but a different paint job. The second bat was more popular simply because of how it looked. The Voodoo is an older model. It's been discontinued and replaced by a new bat called The Goods. Both are very similar in design. The CAT8 is an older model from 2019 and a good BBCOR and USSSA bat. Very good performing bat with a sound that players love. Lightweight and easy to swing. It's probably one of the best sellers, and since the CAT8 is still available, it's perhaps one of the better bang for the buck. Prices dropped for this older model. So, it is a good match for an entry-level player on a tight budget.

The Goods One Piece is the end loaded, heavier version of the Voodoo One. Very similar design, a one piece alloy bat. You have a tiny market share that uses it; the popularity isn't as strong as the two piece simply because The Goods One Piece seems to rattle. If you don't hit it in the barrel's sweet spot, you can get a little feedback in the hands, a slight vibration. The Goods two-piece has a damper built in, so if you didn't hit it just right, it absorbed some of that vibration, whereas the one-piece doesn't have that technology. \

The longest lasting metal bat series on the market is still at its peak. Rawlings legendary Velo series returned in 2022, with a Velo ACP release that I’ve heard hitters say offers unparalleled balance at the plate. Over time, the Rawlings Velo series has evolved by incorporating the ACP (Accelerated Carbon Performance) line that adds extra carbon in the barrel, which we’ve heard does a lot to increase pop. While Velo’s aren’t the best looking bats you’re going to find, they make up for the plainness with top-notch performance. The 2018 Beast X is another stellar addition to the Easton metal bat family. It achieved a sort of cult status upon its release due to it being one of the lightest one piece alloy bats available—and many baseball players (me included) really love the highlighter yellow colorway it came with. In my opinion, it’s the best looking metal bat that Easton bat ever made. The Beast X evolved from Easton’s Z-Core line of bats, although it adds a lizard skin grip and lighter swing speed that the Z-Core models didn’t have. If you don’t want to break the bank on a balanced, lightweight, aesthetically pleasing bat, consider the Easton Beast X this season.

One of the earlier iterations in Marucci’s CAT series, the BBCOR-certified CAT6 got high praise when it first came out for its advancements in bat technology. Marucci took feedback from players and paid particular attention to reducing vibration in the top hand, as this is a common complaint -- particularly among amateur players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. Impressively, the vibration dampening rate on the CAT6 is 5.6 times higher than its competition. You can also be assured that the CAT6 will give you a swing as smooth as butter. The CAT6 is a one-piece bat constructed from some of the most responsive alloy available.

### Expert Notes

The Marucci CAT 6 has been one of the highest rated bats ever. It has a middle of the road swing weight and uses the same proprietary knob found in new CAT bats from Marucci.

As a general sentiment, we’d recommend this bat for any player that prefers the stiff feel of a single piece bat and is looking for a real value purchase. The CAT 6 is ideal for hitters who like a balanced bat and the honest feel and power that come from a one-piece bat, but who also want to avoid any associated sting. For 2019, the CAT 6 features a very glossy pearl white with a hurricane circular design. 

The BBCOR version of the CAT 6 features a handle that transitions into the knob. The larger widening handle increases your bottom hand’s contact with the bat. Those who like a skinny bottom hand handle can unwrap the tape and remove the plastic shaped cone on the bottom of the handle.

The 2016 Easton Z-Core is a single-piece aluminum alloy bat with a balanced swing. The Z-Core, not to be confused with the Z-Core Torq or Z-Core XL, incorporates an internal composite reinforcement along the length of its barrel. This gives the bat a considerably large barrel for a single-piece alloy. Easton often refers to this as ‘Mako-izing’ the bat which is a reference to the Easton Mako’s large barrel size.

The 2018 Adidas Aero is a light swinging, big barreled two-piece bat that is easy on the hands and does a decent job of dampening sting. There is nothing remarkable about the connective piece of the bat. The most technically impressive feature of the 2018 Aero Burner is the end cap. This new piece allows for a slightly lighter design and longer barrel size. Aesthetically, this bat is a showstopper. The Aero Burner is a great option for players who prefer two-piece composite BBCOR bats, in the 33 or 34 inch size.
