* My son plays attack and just switched to the Cascade S this season. It's a night and day difference from his old helmet. He says it feels much lighter, which helps him with dodging and moving around quickly. The padding feels really secure too.
* I've been using the Cascade S for two seasons now, and I can't say enough good things about it. The protection is top-notch. I've taken some pretty good shots to the head over the years, and I've never felt anything. The helmet does a great job of absorbing the impact. 

CONS: 




* The biggest downside to the Cascade S is the price. It's definitely one of the more expensive helmets on the market. However, I do believe you get what you pay for. 
* Sizing can be a bit tricky with the Cascade S. I had to order two different sizes to find the right fit.

     

* It's a bit on the higher end in terms of price, and some younger players might not need all the bells and whistles that this helmet offers.

The Cascade S is a good helmet for any level. My kid—he's eight—loves his S. One thing to note is that all youth Cascades helmets are slightly smaller than the adults. The one-piece shell and visor create a pretty rigid helmet to manage impacts. They also moved the center of gravity to the middle of the crown, keeping its weight balanced and aligned.

* These skates are unbelievably light! The one-piece boot and PowerFly holder really make a difference. They feel very agile and responsive on the ice, allowing for quicker turns and faster strides. My skating has definitely improved since switching to the HyperLite 2.
* The HyperLite 2 skates are some of the most comfortable skates I've ever worn. The liner is soft and the foam padding helps eliminate pressure points. The new fit system with variable flex zones seems to conform well to my foot shape.
* Great skates, the 2's are very similar to the original HyperLite's, 2's have a better release to change the steel, and a different tongue.

CONS



* There's no getting around it, these skates are expensive. They're definitely an investment for serious players only.
* A huge issue for me is lacing up because there are NO metal eyelets for the laces. So to tighten, l have to pull on the laces sideways (if l pull straight up there's a good chance the laces will rip through the carbon fiber) making it difficult to get a good grip.
* Paying well over $1k for skates and additional steel, I feel like the skates should really last longer than two years.

There is not as much difference between the HyperLite and the HyperLite 2 as there was between the Hyperlite and the 2x Pro, but the 2 is really just a lighter skate. More comfort features have been added also, and there is a new locking mechanism. The HyperLite 2 still offers the quick release, but it's a different upgraded style, which makes it easier to switch the steel in and out. The holder itself is different and extremely lightweight.

The extended wrist cuff moves independently from the rest of the glove, which allows for a full range of motion while offering tons of forearm protection. If you wear smaller elbow pads, HG12 gloves could be a good option for you to make up for the lack of protection from your elbow pads. The palms of these gloves are insanely comfortable, and hold up extremely well against wear and tear.
