* My son wore the CPX-R to a game last weekend and loves it. He says he can see better, and it fits better than the helmet we had on loan from our program. He also says he was less "sweaty" in this helmet. Awesome helmet at a great price.
* This helmet is excellent for my 10 year old. It’s comfortable, fits securely, and definitely protects her face and head. Definitely recommend.
* I have a small head. The CPV-R feels smaller than the CPV which I like. Overall, I like the CPV-R better, the fit is more snug, and the peripheral vision is great. 

CONS: 



* A bit expensive for a youth helmet, but all good lacrosse equipment seems to be pricey these days. 
* ⁦The only issue is that Cascade doesn't make a L/XL for kids with bigger heads. They assume only the smaller kids play lacrosse so there is no need to make them?? Other then that the helmet is nice but a little pricey.
* After about a month of owning this helmet, the padding behind my head folded up and fell off.

The CPX-R is a very light helmet. It has less protection than the higher-end models, especially in head-to-head collisions. An eight-year-old isn't going to get hit by a 200-pounder, so they don't need all the extra materials that adult helmets have. Also, there is no sizing with the CPX-R, as the helmet has a pinch-able adjustment feature at the base of the neck.
