Top Competitor Comparisons: the StringKing Mark 2A and the Warrior Burn XP-O

Catering to offensive players seeking a balance of power and finesse, the Maverik Kinetik 2.0 competes with the StringKing Mark 2A and Warrior Burn XP-O, each offering specific advantages. The Kinetik 2.0 boasts a mid-depth pocket and a balanced face shape, providing versatility for strong shots, controlled passing, and good ground ball control. The StringKing Mark 2A, designed specifically for left-handed players, features a similar pocket depth but with a stiffer construction, prioritizing power and hold for aggressive dodges and forceful shots. Conversely, the Warrior Burn XP-O takes a more balanced approach with a slightly shallower pocket and a focus on well-rounded offensive capabilities. While packing enough punch for powerful plays, the Burn XP-O's design allows for a better feel and adaptability in tight offensive situations and passing plays.

What people are saying (edited for brevity and clarity)

PROS

  • OG Kinetik was great, but the tension lock needed fixing. Kinetik 2.0 is a perfect upgrade for an offensive head.
  • Ideal for attack and midfield positions, allowing you to string a pocket in almost any position, best with mid to mid-high pocket.
  • Favorite head to string. Great for people who like to shoot or passers who like a tight face shape.

CONS

  • The stiffness of the head took some time to get used to, and it affected my cradle and shooting a bit
  • The pocket depth was a little shallower than I was expecting, making ground balls a bit trickier
  • I feel a slight increase in weight compared to the original Kinetik.

Expert Review (by Allen Melick)

This head is amazing. It's designed for the elite offensive shooter. The first generation was a top-selling head for 4 years, and the 2.0 brings a lot of updates. It’s very narrow so the head has a ton of ball control, and it has a refined scoop to make picking up balls a lot easier. I like how it strings, it has a ton of sidewall holes so you can make your pocket how you like it. It does just about everything, it shoots well, and the passing is good. It's my favorite offensive head I've ever tried.
