New 2022 Volkl Racetiger GS R Jr skis w/o bindings, Size: 165

The new Racetiger GS R JR has been completely redesigned for the upcoming season. Like the Racetiger SL R JR, it was tested and developed with our ski legends and their children. The result is a new geometry with a slightly wider shovel, which provides more turning support and helps young racers largely place their turns above the gates. Another highlight is the ‘scaled structure.’ All lengths are equipped with a tip rocker, full sidewall, Speedwall wood core and two layers of full Titanal. As the thickness of the Titanal and wood ratio change from length to length, the skis ‘grow’ with and are optimally tailored to the athlete. They come complete with a pre-mounted Marker JR Race Interface plate, which has been matched to the ski and offers excellent power transmission, edge grip and bending characteristics. This race ski also features a new Race plate interface with a joint in the center, creating a much more harmonic bending curve. The new drill pattern allows a more direct power transfer, and the X-Comp binding is attached with only three (3) instead of four (4) screws. This way, the ski is more forgiving and smoother to ride.

Although Volkl doesn’t quite have the profile of some other ski manufacturers, I’ve always enjoyed heading up the chairlift clipped into a couple of their skis. The Volkl Racetiger GS Skis are my favorite skis for those days you’re going to spend on hard or even icy slopes, since they have the strength and bite to keep you feeling confident in challenging conditions. They’re fast enough to be used in junior competition, if that’s what you’re looking for, but they’re also versatile enough to work as a day-to-day ski.
