Sideline Spotlight: The Highfill Family

Here at SidelineSwap, we're all about community. Our users are the reason why we do what we do, and each week we want to say thank you by featuring a SidelineSwap user's story on our blog. Keep sending us your feedback and sharing your stories -- and you could be next in the Sideline Spotlight!

Meet the Highfills, a hockey family based out of Washington state. We recently heard from Shawn Highfill, proud dad to three young hockey players who all use SidelineSwap to search for gear. The Highfill kids are just starting out in hockey.

"It can be costly enough to get into the sport for one person, let alone three," Shawn explained. "SidelineSwap has been a great place to start gearing up."

Shawn originally stumbled upon SidelineSwap because there are no hockey shops near where he and his family live.

"We get to see equipment that we would not otherwise be exposed to," he said. "From beginner to pro level -- the hockey store has come to me."

So far, Shawn has purchased a couple of hockey sticks off of Sideline to get his kids started.

He's also sold a pair of his used skates. While it's great to save money, Shawn said that what he values most about SidelineSwap is the community.

"The people selling here are experienced users," he told us. "They have first-hand knowledge of what they are selling. All (sellers) who I have communicated with are willing to help and give 'insider' advice."
